I'd love for Her and Sara B to make a song like "Love Song." Sara wrote it as a big FU to her record label, who told her that she needed a cute love song to release as a single. Her solution was to write "I'm not gonna write you a love song because you ask for it, because you need one..."

Even ballsier than Taylor writing "Mean."
i really hope "mean" was lord's last big inspirational/Brave/Born This Way/Roar type song. i see the appeal in her record label telling her to write another one just so that it blows up on radio and charts, but that really not what i want to be hearing. (unless its a more serious, slower song like tied together with a smile) (i would add The Outside, but Front-Row-At-Every-Award-ShowLor Swift isn't really an outcast anymore)
not much. a few friends of mine were extras for it but they only started filming the week after taylor got back to LA, and they filmed with Brenton (spelling?) and Jeff but not Lord or Meryl. which re-enforces her recurrent stance that her role is small. the studio she filmed at was super close to my university and it is rather small, so i really don't expect much from that. they stopped filming there towards the end of dec/beginning of jan. so unless they moved somewhere else, the film is done. it's not much, but that's all i know. also, weirdly, lord was super lowkey the entire trip. literally not one person saw her aside from the last two nights she was here when she went out for dinner. but otherwise she did zero tourist things and just worked. which sucks because cape town slays between september and april, she would have loved it
Maybe she's preparing for the Oceania RED TOUR right after that? I am wondering who will be the lead actress though.
y'all need to listen to imogen's "chasing cars" (her best), "goodnight and go", "headlock", and "candlelight"
in high school her music was the ONLY songs that the girls that did ballet/contemporary dance would dance to. it's pretty great tbh
I hope they collab, she can give Taylor a whole new fresh sound, this woman is a mastermind engineering and an actual grammy winner.
Im listening to Ellipse right now and she has such a cool, electronic sound that isn't like anything that's on the radio right now. Taylor needs to lead and shift the direction of mainstream music.

But Mean, unlike all of the lessor empowerment anthems, won Grammy Awards. What sets it apart from other empowerment themed songs is that it's based directly upon Taylor's own experiences, and it doesn't really have any generic "you're beautiful, you're a champion, be brave" kind of lyrics.
I wouldn't mind Her doing another such empowerment song. Not here for basic generic empowerment though.

That's basically Taylor's success, she never really relies on catering to a certain audience. She writes for herself and then people relate to it which is more appealing.

how do u feel about #237oniTunesGa tho? because BTW made me cringe, but i surprisingly love Hair. lettuce not discuss Katy because, well, yeah
You all agree that "State of Grace" was a perfect opening song for both RED album and tour, that's why I am desperately waiting for U2 collaboration on LP5. Then how about finale?
