I personally love the 9 at 9, and I listen to it every night. But sometimes I wonder how accurate it really is. For example, the last 5 nights, Nicki Minaj - Super Bass was the #1 most requested song. Then tonight, it wasn't even in the top 9 most requested. And on top of that a song, for example the song Adele - Rolling in the Deep that has been played on Z100 for a few months now still stays in the top 7. I was wondering if anyone else has questioned this... I would like to know, what do you all think? I would love to hear all of your opinions, because it all just doesn't make too much sense to me...

It's been like that ever since Romeo left. In case you don't know or remember, Romeo was the night DJ from 2002 (?) up until 2009. During his tenure, I remember the countdown was always consistent and songs would be able stay at #1 for several weeks. It was always a rare occurrence to see a song drop off from the top three, but now it happens all the time! Romeo also distinguished the Z100 9@9 from other countdowns with "ZJ's" and flashbacks at the end of each countdown. After he left, the consistency of the countdown disappeared and so did everything that made the countdown interesting. I haven't listened to the 9@9 in about two years.

I just started becoming a z100 fan in 2009, and I do remember him vaguely. I remember when it actually was INTERACTIVE, and not just the countdown. I honestly don't think the 9 @ 9 is legitimate. If it isn't real, I don't see the point. And IF it isn't real, why not make it seem at least somewhat believable?

I actually think it is accurate now and wasn't before. Why? Well, because most stans will swarm Z100 to request for a specific day or week, which would cause it to be at #1, then they think they did their job and won't do it as much the next day/month, which will of course cause it to fall off the charts, and this pattern will just continue. Unfortunately, with an online request chart for the biggest station in the US, it's VERY easy for stans to manipulate.

The thing I don't like about Z100 is that theyre band-wagoners. They add songs when theyre already taking off. I understand that they have a reputation to maintain, but, I feel like they should be more innovative. As one of the top stations in the WORLD, they should be leaders, not followers.
