It looks like a low budget and basic music video and it seems like they didn't put so much effort on it. Anyway I was expecting something like that from the pictures we've seen before the release and considering they just spent one day shooting it.
Hilary looked ok but there are few things that could have been done better easily, her hair wasn't on point (I actually wish she kept it short) and her style didn't do her justice she needs to hire some good stylist.
I think it's still a good and enjoyable video but Hilary can definitely do so much better !
This is most likely not giving the song the push it needs on charts. In my opinion what Hilary needs right now is a
good and
smart promo schedule for the upcoming weeks.
At this point I'm a little bit confused on how the budget for this era is spent/distributed. I mean I feel like her label is giving her a decent budget for promo (two singles in one month, two music videos, many national and international trips) but at the same time it feels like the budget is very badly managed.
- The planes used for Chasing the Sun did absolutely nothing good to the song, an iTunes banner would be much better.
- the Australian promo tour was very useful but only in Australia, I still don't get why they didn't do a similar thing in the US first. I mean it's very easy to make a song a hit in other countries when it's already a hit in the US even without promo in these countries. That's why they should concentrate the promo in the US at least as a first step.
- The Canadian trip was useless, just a waste of money.
- Chasing the sun which was a "buzz single" got a better music video than the actual lead single and by better I mean a more 'worked on' video and I'm pretty sure the budget was higher than the budget of All About You.
- Not to mention the fact of releasing a buzz single like Chasing the Sun and then moving on so fast to another "lead" single. I'm persuaded things could've worked better if they put all the money on All About You. (at least I hope the Chasing the Sun disappointment won't affect the AAY video views )
Hilary is a very talented and good person and she proved it once again in this era so I hope she will get a good and fair management and the success she deserves.
