'Ray of Light' remains her best album to date, an even though MDNA sounds so tempting, I haven't heard anything else from it, so I can't say it's going to make second place yet.
For Ray of Light, the productions, lyrics, vocals and maturity of the album are what make it the best. It cannot be beat.
Confessions has a flow to it, meant to be made that way, which is why it's second for me right now, but the productions & lyrics on American Life are LIFE.
I just don't see how Ray of Light can ever be beat.
Erotica was great, because of the controversy, the grime beats, and the oversexual lyrics ("Where Life Begins" is haunting, and my favorite on the album).
Are we judging recent Madonna albums? If that's the case, yes, clearly Confessions >>>
but discussing Madonna's entire discography and randomly naming Confessions as one of her best, girls, sorry, I love you and Confessions On A Dance Floor and all, but
Confessions is better than Hard Candy, I can give you that.

You didn't not just say Confessions is as good as LAV. LAV is horrible because it lacks cohesion. The singles are the only good tracks.
Well more than half of the album's tracks are singles....
Confessions has cohesion but that doesn't mean it's better. I like her having cohesion, but COADF has so much filler... Jump, Let it Will Be, Forbidden Love, Push, etc.
I mean it's a great pop album, but not by Madonna's standards.
If we wanna talk about filler-less, look at her greatest hits album "Celebration".
And "Ray of Light" just came on the radio. My favorite song ever, from my favorite album over. "Ray of Light" the song, alone, in my opinion, is better than the discographies of a few popular artists on this site.
I'm not really fond of her first two albums, to be quite honest.
Her debut is my least played Madonna album on Last.FM. Even I'm Breathless is in front of it
