The villain looks a lot like Yusei.
What if the reason Yusei ain't in Synchro Jigen is because he was absorbed by the villain?
I wouldn't be surprised.

They could do something like that, but I don't think so. Why would they make a series with focus in the 2000's? They wouldn't ditch Synchro, Xyz and Pendulum just for that. They would have to make Yugi and Co. travel to the future for that series to work.

Ew no. At least do like a Pokemon Origins type of series (but make it longer than 4 episodes), just to go back to the basics. The good old days.

That will never happen.
Even Yugi already saw Synchros, and was "amazed" by them. There's no way they go back to the past. Be glad they are making new cards for old archetypes, that's the only thing they can do for old school decks.

I hate "archetypes" tbh. Yeah I've made my own but overall I still hate that. It was just coming in as the original yugioh series was going out, and I don't like it. It completely contradicted what a good duelist was. Yugi said (I believe against Arkana), that a good duelist assembles his deck with his favorites from many different types of cards (and he put his trust in his deck and his Dark Magician chose him).

I miss that. My deck was basically all the cards Yugi used, but still. You couldn't get away with that even during the GX days, when Heroes came in. Archetypes ruined it all.

It might be related because the movie is called Dark Side of Dimensions while Arc v is about the 4 different dimensions (Standard, XYZ, Synchro, and Fusion)

I think I worded it wrong.
The movie is related to Arc-V's plot cuz is the thing going on right now in the series. The series always move forward, they never look into the past. Yugi and Kaiba will appear cuz in 5D's and Arc-V was proven that you can travel in time and go through dimensions. So Yugi and Kaiba can simply travel in time and cross dimensions again, like they've been doing it since always.

They could make another series based on Yugi and co BUT they would NEVER ditch the Extra Deck for Vanilla decks in the series.
