Miley got backlash for twerking at the VMAs two years ago, and the Wrecking Ball video, but you then have girls promoting gun violence and other nasties, but the GP don't bat an eyelid. I don't think Taylor's video is bad per se, though. I get Miley's point, but she could have voiced her opinion differently, e.g. instead of slamming the "Bad Blood" music video she could have called out the media for its stupidity and hypocrisy more directly...

I don't think that was her even slamming it though I'm pretty sure people have said worse. She could have worded it differently (I guess), but anyone that isn't quick to attack Miley and doesn't have the reading comp of 2nd grader would know she is in fact calling out the media for its hypocrisy. This is actually pretty direct

These are all just props and symbolism to express the vibe of freedom that she is aiming for. I do not think that teaching people to be superficial and "perfect" is the right message.
