of Montreal's last album was quaint sounding Singer-Songwriter Indie-Pop, meaning it was probably the least interesting album they've released for ten years. This song takes the quaint sound and gives it a funkier, rockier punch making it a lot more enjoyable for me.
144. Swans - "A Little God On My Hands"
Swans lead single for To Be Kind is a menacing seven minute dirge with super sarcastic-sounding vocals. It's good.
143. Dego & Kaidi - "Carrots & Sesame"
This is nice Dance oriented music with Jazz-like chords and sounds.
142. Kiesza - "Over Myself"
It's ALL about that second hook.
141. Giant Claw - "Dark Web 008"
The last song on Dark Web is the longest, and definitely one of the strangest on the album. The structure reminds me a bit of older Western Art Music.
Kitten gives us Robert Smith/Vanity realness on the vocals. The song is almost kinda Prince influenced with some New Romantic thrown in there. Basically it's very 80s and very awesome.
139. Cibo Matto - "Empty Pool"
This is the most ambient sounding of all of the songs on Hotel Valentine, but I love the eerie vibe it gives me! Very ghostly and paranormal.
138. Twin Shadow - "Turn Me Up"
The hook sounds like it's from 2011, the verses sound like it's 2014. A nice blend his style and the trendz at the time.
137. Poemss - "Bedtime"
A slightly DnB-esque music box. Kewl.
136. Tune-Yards - "Wait for a Minute"
I love how the chorus is sort of in a different meter than the actual song.
Kiesza's song is great, also loving the second hook. Not her best track, but I think there's more Kiesza in your top.
For me Kitten's song is very weird, but it's sort of interesting, it a bit reminded me of Michael Jackson in some parts, I don't know.. Please don't judge.
Sex Drive, Sayit, Empty Pool, Wait for a Minute, A Little God In My Hands
And I actually really enjoyed the album of Montreal released last year!
I 'enjoyed' lousy with sylvanbriar but ive just been so attached to them for so long that it was really disappointing lol. It doesn't compare to their greats!
