The Observer is a sister paper to The Guardian, but it's its own paper altogether. Both get counted separately (I think).

Also is it just me or is it wrong that someone (in this instance, Taylor) spends countless hours over two years perfecting an album; then some armchair critic listens once or twice and pronounces judgement, and then people take it serious.
And look at some of the writing of these critics rhat reviewed it negatively. They seem to habe barely put any time into listening and crafting their reviews. Shouldn't they be judged for crappy writing before taking their criticism into account?

Personally I don't put any stock in the critics. It's only an opinion.

Taylor did an interview today with the LIFE magazine supplement to newspaper Irish Sunday Independent. They were talking about the critics and the interviewer Barry Egan said the following

But you're the one who sells millions upon millions of records. You can do it; they can't. They are the eunuchs in the harem.
