On this weekend, with the anniversary of Stonewall, we have achieved much. So much than I ever expected to see back in 2000 with Matthew Sheppard fresh in my mind as I started at the University of Wyoming, hiding as far in the closet as I could while still knowing everyone could guess I was a homo. But we still see persecution of trans individuals, continued pushes to exclude the LGBT community from central protections and "religious liberty" laws that would enshrine discrimination into the business sector "for sincerely held religious beliefs" - provided they are Christian, cuz persish the thought a Muslim or Jew do so in kind. Today is the first step, but the war is far from over.
