Some viral hits just do not click with the rest of the world. I'm living in Asia and those posting this video on my feeds are all from the US. Of course I am not saying that 20% is true or not true based on my own personal experience. But if you look back, viral hits like "Living On a Prayer" are virtually US-based, while viral hits like "Wrecking Ball" or "Gentlemen" are WW phenomenon - hence the 20% average we use cannot be applied to every single video.
The most popular video worldwide list is computed based on views per day worldwide, raw number, not weighted number. So it could be a chance that the video has so many views from the US it actually tops the list WW.
Not that it's a bad song, but it's shocking
