Prism. ARTPOP is too loud. The production ruins the songs. However artpop has more standout tracks. Nothing on Prism tops Sexxx dreams or aura for example.

ARTPOP, and it's not even a close comparison. Katy's problem, and it's the problem that's been plaguing her since Teenage Dream, is that she is so eager to please everyone that she sacrifices any personality she might have, and instead aims right down the middle of the road and consistently makes safe, conservative music that is lyrically cliche and sonically bland. Lady Gaga, on the other hand, seems perfectly content with alienating people and catering to what her fans want and doesn't rely on the same tropes and cliches as Katy does, and bucks the recent trend in pop music towards the "organic," alternative sound found on Prism and instead makes hard-hitting EDM. Prism sets its bar low so that the few standout tracks seem a lot bigger than they actually are, whereas, ARTPOP maintains high energy and a level of controlled insanity throughout the album from start to finish that may alienate some people, but ultimately is better and more interesting than any other pop release this season.
Short-version, Prism is more of the same old boring pop music that does nothing more than try to appeal to the largest audience possible while sacrificing any element of art or creativity that any generic pop musician could make, while ARTPOP revels in its insanity and is an album only Gaga could pull off.

Everything about this is spot on. You said everything I came to say and more. Katy Perry is cute and fun, but Lady Gaga is in a completely different league musically.

Lady Gaga made ARTPOP to re-gain her commercial following, though. I don't see how you can hate Katy for "sacrificing personality for commerciality" when that was Gaga's entire motive for ARTPOP.
Katy has "Roar," "Legendary Lovers," "Birthday," "Walking on Air," "Dark Horse" and "Unconditionally." Lady Gaga has "Sexxx Dreams," "G.U.Y." and "Do What U Want." While Katy's album may be safer and does hit a lull in the second half of its tracklist, it does not have any tracks that are as delete-worthy as "Aura," "Venus," ""MANiCURE," etc. They're about equal to me.

Wow, that was too much. 'PRISM' is a very weak album compared to 'Teenage Dream'. There was no evolution at all from her previous work. Katy is neither creative nor re-inventive, we all know that. She's a popstar, she's a good singer, she's talented (even though she doesn't make good use of it to make something truly new), but she's not an ARTist.
And what you said about the commercial aspect of ARTPOP... Gaga even "criticized" the ones who want her to do another "Bad Romance" or "Poker Face".

Katy's "Teenage Dream" was pop mush to me. It was pop without the catchy kick, with a few expectations. I always though GaGa was musically beyond Katy in terms of creating mega pop tunes. However, I'm starting to stan more for Katy than GaGa.
PRISM is a beautifully written album, appealing to all ages and is cleaner to the ears then GaGa's ARTCRAP, I;ve never ever heard anything as bad as GaGa's album. It is trash.
PRISM >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Teenage Dream (which I disliked) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ARTPOP

ARTPOP.
I went into listening both with a semi open mind and for the most part, I was much less disappointed by ARTPOP than PRISM.

True, but this came AFTER she announced that Venus was the new Bad Romance. Let's put everything out on the table.

I know right. Gaga is a hard individual to deal with. I mean... sometimes she contradicts herself, so who am I to defend her with her own contradictory arguments?

After listening to both, I was legitimately surprised at how good ARTPOP is and there's definitely more tracks I love on it than on Prism. I like both albums but ARTPOP>>Prism

Being a Cascada stan does not make me unacknowledged about the music culture and what makes a good record. You guys are so narrow minded and judge people based on who they listen to. I appreciate all music and am never biased towards any popstar. If ARTPOP was good I'd be stanning it hard here.
You guys really need to develop decent arguing points and grow out of this immature behavior
