Lykke Li - Little Bit
Source: ATRL's NG
- I honestly did not expect myself to enjoy a suggestion by NG this much but this has got to be one of my favorite songs at the moment. It is so incredibly sweet, both the lyrics and how young her voice sounds. I even enjoy the video, despite how simple it is.
Rogue Traders - Voodoo Child
Source: Various sources
- I have no idea how I never posted anything by Rogue Traders before... I originally discovered them through an Old Navy (I think?) commercial playing their song "World Go 'Round." I am so glad I paid attention to that commercial! Still, I am sharing this song because this is the song that has been stuck in my head at the moment and should be looked at. Also, this was an actual single, unlike "World Go 'Round."
Six songs that I feel like mentioning (in addition to the previous songs):
There is something about these songs... darn them.Black Lewis - Surrender
Album: A.D.D. (Audio Day Dream) | Year: 2007
- I know
Kworb is a huge fan of Blake Lewis but I always assumed it would be something we disagree on, like we disagree on Incubus. However, thanks to him, I ended up hearing this and now I am hooked. I liked this song so much that I ended up checking out the whole album. Yeah, so was not expecting that.
Fefe Dobson - Bye Bye Boyfriend
Album: Fefe Dobson | Year: 2003
- I love when random Fefe songs come in my playlist! I think this was her first single and while I did not discover her when this came out, I am so glad I did eventually hear about her. I love songs where I can sing and sort of let go of my own emotions, whatever they may be, and I love her voice. With this being so mellow but have such an energetic chorus, I can feel anything and feel good after.
Flo-Rida f/ T-Pain - Low
Album: Mail on Sunday | Year: 2007
- I am so not saying this is a great song. I am also not stating that you should check it out if you do not know this song. It is just one of the most played songs on my pop radio station and when you combine that with how catchy it is, you end up getting it stuck in your head. It also does not help when you realize you are not alone.
Miley Cyrus - See You Again
Album: Meet Miley Cyrus | Year: 2007
- When I first heard this, I thought Ashlee Simpson had a new single. then I realized it was Miley. I believe I enjoyed another song by her before, so it is not that surprising I would enjoy this too. It was just surprising hearing it on the local pop station. They are even playing the Jonas Brothers? What is going on?!
Róisín Murphy - Checkin' Up On Me
Album: Overpowered | Year: 2007
- Courtesy of Pandora.com, I was able to discover the amazing album by Roisin Murphy. I actually did not know about her, at least not enough to care about checking out her music, before Pandora randomly played her. Another song worth checking out!
Snoop Dogg - Sensual Seduction
Album: Ego Trippin' | Year: 2008
- I have no idea what it is about this song but since I hear it so often on the radio, I guess I cannot blame myself for enjoying the rhythm. Something about the music or chorus feels good. It seems way too mellow... and I think I like the censored version more? I do not see why eruption had to be censored but seduction just flows more, in my opinion. I think that alone proves that I do not focus on the lyrics sometimes, since the lyrics flow better when not censored. The video was so not expected though, haha.
This week has been quite busy... and next week will only get more busy. I do not mind though since with this week being so busy, it makes me appreciate the weekend a bit more than I usually would. I love chocolate way too much! Anyway, may everyone have a great week/end!
