Kelly Clarkson came at the MET Gala for the first time. As the owners of the Metropolitan Museum decided to bring back a theme this year they chose: "Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations". Kelly Clarkson decided to wear a Schiaparelli outfit for her red carpet look. She said that she wanted to shock and that this is the perfect look. She says that this look is very interesting in her opinion as its the first time she is wearing this. She said "You may like it or you may hate it and that's just the way it is".
During the gala, the award for the Best Dressed Woman was announced. Kelly Clarkson won it. She walked with a new dress to the stage which this time was a Prada one. When she accepted the award she said that the two designers couldn't be more different and that she loves this new simple and sexy look with this neutral make up. She said that she was surprised to win the award and said that she feels so happy to be recognized by someone.
For the after party, Kelly Clarkson chose to wear Schiaparelli again. But she said about this outfit that she feels that is a combination of the two she previously wear as it looks different but it looks simple too and doesn't look so much out of this world like the last Schiaparelli one. The look featured again neutral make up because she wanted to impress with the dress. The look was simple but the celebrities there loved it.

Red Carpet Glamazons
The VMAs are the most casual of all of the award shows, there is no real dresscode and there's usually also a lot of people from the alternative/rock scene around which adds to the laid back atmosphere. I decided not to wear anything that's too over the top, but still wanted to go with something that's special enough for the occasion and I wouldn't wear normally.

 | For the Black Carpet, I chose a dress by Betsy Johnson. It's very feminine which is usually not my style, but I fell in love with the print and I thought it would be nice to surprise people by wearing a dress like this. Of course, I'm adding my own touch though, so I threw a gray oversized cardigan over it, just to make it a bit more comfy and don't feel as exposed. You can still see a good portion of the dress underneath since the cardigan fits very loosely, plus my legs are also showing! To make them look more slim, I put on black Litas from Jeffrey Campbell. The round out the outfit, I'm carrying a black clutch in the shape of a pout. I think it's a really creative, cute with an edge outfit. |
For my big moment accepting my award On Stage, I changed into this sleeveless lace dress by Diesel Black Gold. I love the different materials that have been used for it - lace, denim, faux leather, cotton. I also love the collar, that's what initially caught my attention. I think the silhouette and color of the dress make it elegant, but everything else about it screams rock'n'roll, it's quite unique. To match that classy edginess, I chose some heels by Betsey Johnson, the color is simply gorgeous and the little golden clasp looks very chic. I'm also wearing a black hairband to tame my hair a little, as well as a black studded bracelet. My favorite accessories in this look are my tattoos though, since the dress is sleeveless you can perfectly see the colorful ink on my arms and I really love the contrast between that and the dress. |

For the After Party, I just wanted something cute but comfortable so that I can dance without having to worry about my outfit! I found this black dress from Saint Laurent Paris, it has a great little bow detail in the front as well as a peter pan collar which is always a plus. It looks a bit boring by itself though, so to make it more party-appropriate I added a denim vest by Levi's and Dr. Martens with a pink flower print. It makes for a very cool and eye-catching combination, if you ask me. My purse is by Michael Kors, just something simple that matches the outfit to carry my necessities around.

RIHHYONCE
Zoe Saldana had always dreamed of being an Oscar winner, but had no idea that one day she would one day be a Grammy nominee. Cast as Michelle Williams in "Survivor: The Destiny's Child Story", she recorded a few tracks for the film's soundtrack. No one knew that Zoe actually had a voice! The soundtrack of Survivor went on to sell 14 million copies worldwide (when will your fave?), and Zoe was touted as the music world's newest It Girl. And now, she is a nominee for the Best New Artist category at the Grammys! Let's watch....
Zoe went for drama and eleganza on the red carpet. She chose a strapless, high-low peplum gown by Michael Kors, showing off her long, slender legs. On her feet, a pair of star-spangled suede sandals by Giuseppe Zanotti. She continued the gold in her accessories, opting for gold, diamond, and pearl earrings and a gold cuff by Ana Khouri, and a golden embellished clutch from Alexander McQueen. A metallic manicure and a nude lip topped off the look. Werk it kween!
And as fate would have it, Zoe wins the Grammy Award for Best New Artist! She was a regal vision in purple as she took the stage to accept her award. She was clad in a bead-embellished, silk-chiffon gown by Matthew Williamson and black ankle strap sandals by Saint Laurent. Amethyst encrusted earrings by Ana Khouri and a plum lip complete the look. Fab.
Time to pour it up, pour it up at the Grammy's after party! Zoe attended the Def Jam Grammy's Offical After Party to twerk it out with her good friends Rihanna and Beyoncé. For the occasion she went for a smart, sexy look. Zoe wore a black-and-white patterned velvet blazer by Roberto Cavalli, and black leather mini skirt with gold piping by Balmain to create a unique balance of texture. Studded booties by Christian Louboutin and a crystal necklace by Lulu Frost added a heavy dose of sparkle. She carried a gold-embellished clutch by Giuseppe Zanotti, and wore a turquoise cameo ring by Amadeo. A quick coat of RiRi Woo on her lips, and Zoe was ready to dance the night away.

FEEDBACK
RIHHYONCE
PRAYER: Your looks were impeccable, this could possibly be your best entry. I was blown away. Your first look was combined together so well - every piece fit together like a puzzle. Again, I love your style and it shined through bright. Your second look was my least favorite of the three, but it still was very cute. The last look was STUNNING, my complete favorite. Everything was so fierce and amazing, ugh. Nothing wrong with it. The jacket and skirt were perfect, the shoes were flawless, everything was so edgy and perfect. It looks like something I would have entered. Slay.

PRAYER: This was one of your better entries. I loved your first look the most, the dress and hat was great. The second look was cute, pretty predictable but still nice. The last look was so creative and it was refreshing to see something really out of the box. This is a nice, solid entry!

PRAYER: I really enjoyed this entry! The looks were all similar, which could be a good or bad thing, but it was pulled off well. The accessories were the best party of the entry, especially for the after party. I loved the pieces you chose and I think they reflected Tegan's style. However, your dresses all seemed a little bland. Nothing really seemed to stand out, but I understand you are trying to stick to her style, but a few risks is a good thing. Still a great entry!
YSL:
WINNER
RIHHYONCE is the winner but this was definitely hard because you all gave us great entries. Congratulations for making it to the Top 3. Even though many have quit, we both think you have never disappointed us so don't feel like you guys just got lucky!

no surprises here Congrats for slaying, you two!
I guess now is the time to thank everyone who quit this game, because without them I would not have made it this far
PS. I didn't wanna be too outrageous and risky because I had the VMAs. They're more dressed down, not as glamorous, and not everyone can pull off crazy outfits like Nicki or GaGa so I steered clear of that. I thought her looks would still stand out because of the way she mixed styles.

Yes, I agree that I did not like my second look that much either but I had to show the theme of the party and stuff.

Congratulations to the final three! It's been a long road (not really) but you three have persevered and made it to the last challenge! As you may have guessed from the title, your final challenge will be a VOGUE cover and editorial challenge. For many, this is the holy grail of fashion. The "I made it" in fashion (unless you're Britney Spears, which was a terrible call on Anna Wintour's part).
For this challenge, there are a few requirements you must satisfy.
- Put together THREE different looks for a three page editorial inside of the magazine.
- Put together ONE separate look for the cover. This must be a standout look and ultimately the best from the entire shoot.
- The entire shoot needs to have one theme in common, whether it's shot in a photo studio or at a chateau in France, you need to explain the location and what you're trying to embody. While each shot should be different, they should all essentially look like they belong to the same shoot.
Thus, you must have a total of 4 boards. You will be judged on creativity, taking risks, and staying consistent and connected to your product.
The deadline will be SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 8TH AT 8PM EST so you can have enough time to come up with high quality entries.
