Yes, as I read through the topic I got familiar with this insight. I see that it's nothing special for most of them but it seems to me that it's something people can easily overlook and that scares me a bit. It's appearently not that big deal.
With the family, I'm not completely sure why the one son turned out that way but "judging" as an outsider when watching them both talking to each other or whatever it seems that his behaviour could be retraced to the abusing. And it also affected the other brothers. They may have respect for their father but it's too much respect that turned into fear and distance.
I agree with you with that twerking-topic if they really were up to only shaking their (naked) ass into a camera and then upload it somewhere. The beating is still exaggerated in this case but I get your point.

But MOST african american parents can take away privileges from their kids when they do something bad as well. I just don't see the need for that jab. In many circumstances, yes, a white family may be more likely to be able to live more comfortably in america than a black family but this is still no third world country. It doesn't matter if they have MORE privileges, there will still be privileges a black parent can take away however few there are.

And that's why I said it was an inherited culture. And some privileges that you take away from a child wouldn't even effect them and their future decisions. Black people don't have time to be repeating themselves and reinstilling morals and ethics via conversation. Because that's a long ting, and if you're black child puts a foot wrong in the real world.
