Literally so much came up these past few months that put me out of time to finish this rate. I really shouldn't have taken up this rate at a hectic time in my life, and for that I apologize for everyone who participated.

I'm really really sad/happy about this elimination. Firstly, I'm happy this song (which is one of my personal favorites of hers) made it into the Top 8. At the same time, I'm really upset about the fact that Dancing With Tears In My Eyes, it's slightly worse counterpart, beat it out. Granted, they're both pretty comparable, and most fans generally have to pick one of the two when it comes to picking a fan favorite from Animal, but this song really deserved to make it past DWTIME, especially considering the condition of this rate - being vulnerable, upset, lost, and lonely, baring it all to the microphone. |

This song is really interesting, speaking from an objective point of view. It manages to mix lo-fi R&B with Cinematic strings and a beautiful piano dropping. Vocally, the chorus is the strongest, showing strain and pain in Rihanna's voice, while also display restraint, something Rihanna generally has a hard time doing. While I enjoy this song, I definitely don't think it should be her last song out. Unfaithful or Love The Way You Lie deserved this spot much, much more. However, the final chorus really blows me away every single time - the drum beat drop and then the hard hitting Justin Timberlake-esque drums come in, really beautiful. The guitar comes in and just takes the song by the heels and drives it home. The end of the song is like an epic movie soundtrack as part of someone preparing for a fight, and probably should be used for that one day. You can just feel the anger in the instruments themselves. |

I think the reason that she made it so far here is because she has a.) The upper hand in this rate and b.) literally the only people bar a few who participated were Ke$ha stans.

I'm shocked. When I was tallying up the scores, I was surefire that the Harold song would win, judging by it's vast number of 10's. That was until the "1" came in from somebody. That pushed it down into the bottom of the Top 10 until more votes came in and pushed it back up to where it is now. Granted, the lower scores killed it, but the song came out fighting. I know many Ke$ha fans that participated in this rate will be upset, considering it's literally the staple of what this rate is all about - the ultimate vulnerability, the true softer side. While it may not be the best of the songs here in this rate, it really embodies the message this rate is about. While some of you may drag this rate for being off-kiltered, poorly timed, and long lasting, remember what the message here is. We want our favorite artists to be able to express this side and express it loud, something most of them are not fortunate enough to do with their labels at hand. |
