One last question are International Acts eligible in the genre categories like Best Pop and Best urban? Those never specified what country.

Im aware of the other ones that are artist and album driven but the genre ones I think i might skew.

Like I will enlist Rihanna for best Pop and Drake for best urban despite them being "International". Its only Fair that the Genre categories be open to all nationalities.

Yeah, both US and International acts are eligible in the genre and video categories. Obviously Songwriter and Producer too.

And I'm now seeing enough votes for 212 and Gucci Gucci in Single.

That's what I'm debating. I want to do it like the actual film critics circles (New York, LA, Boston, Washington DC, London, San Francisco, National Society of Film, National Board of Review) wherein:
- everyone gets a mention for the first round of voting. If someone in a particular category gets the bulk of the vote, that category is closed and they win.
- for everyone who doesn't get an overwhelming majority of the vote, we move onto the second round, wherein the critics vote from the top five/six highest votegetters. Again, if there's not a OVERWHELMING majority, we move onto the third ...

It seems more fun that way. The other way is to do what that rank Broadcast Film Critics Association does and just have the top six vote-getters in each category be the nominees. Just seems lamer?

I'm here for this. Because I have a feeling there are going to be some categories where there won't be six deserving nominees.

Oh and for the Genre categories.

Do they have to release an "ALBUM" this year to qualify.

As in Im trying to include Bruno Mars in Best Pop but his album was 2010. Can his singles make him eligible? I know for Male and Female they have to have an album out.

For the genre categories, they have to have something NEW out. So Bruno, with It Will Rain, counts.

Whereas Nicki, with nothing NEW (let's leave that buzz single to the depths of iTunes, where it belongs.), doesn't.

So let me get this straight.

For the Male and Female categories.

They have to have a 2011 Album out. No exceptions


For the Genre categories:

At least a NEW single. Not from a previous album.
