At least here, we're thought that there are two possible divisions for America:

The first one divides it in North America (Canada, United States and Mexico), Central America (Cuba, Panama, etc.) and South America (Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, etc.).

The second one is based in social, economic and demographic differences and divides it in Anglo-Saxonic America (Canada and United States) and Latin America (all the rest).
