TD basically hasn't left the top 250 since it came out as far as I know.

All the excuses.
ATRL never fails to amuse me with its hypocrisy. You can use massive promo against one artist but not the other? The truth is, these numbers are horrid (all jokes aside, I did expect at least 500k). She was forced onto the public for the past two months only to pull in 300k, aka the amount Britney pulled in with Femme Fatale? Millions of dollars and so much time put into this WASTED because they thought they could force people to care. You can justify it all you want with "well, Roar is #1" and "album sales are declining" but it remains a horrid number and each and every one of you know it. If the fans seriously thought she was doing all that promo for nothing, y'all should've rallied together and told her to STOP.

And Sis, Gaga is not pulling 800k, let's not be delusional, she barely scan 644k (without the 99 cents deal) and you think that she'll sell 800k this time around unless you meant with BTW.

I was talking about Gaga and Taylor pulling big sales after their huge eras (The Fame and Fearless). Katy is not even getting half of those sales even though Teenage Dream is supossed to be a huge era after all those records, isn't it?

300k is great, and yes, she is huge since her last era, so what?
100K improvement is a lot in these days. She will end up with 3 million sold in the US.
Something most of your faves can dream of nowadays .
And Rihanna and Britney stans should shut the hell up, look how their last albums opened, lmao.

Comparing Prism to how the Femme Fatale era was handled is actually shady towards Katy.
But hey, good to see that you can laugh at yourself and your fave.

Got it, but Katy doesn't have a big stanbase as Gaga or Taylor do so obviously her first week sales will be decent but not quite massive, she relies more in the GP aceptation which explain why she opened with 192k last time around to end up selling 2.7 million and counting

Their final output matches up to the promo input. Britney and Rihanna debut with solid numbers with minimal appearances/performances. They didn't have golden trucks promoting, they didn't have videos of themselves singing in a bathroom promoting and they most certainly didn't have vulgar controversy surrounding their releases promoting.
Katy's numbers are terrible no matter how you spin it. For such a huge star with the biggest promo blitz I have seen since BTW, Katy is struggling to meet a third of GaGa's sales. In fact, she's on par to match a former Disney star who had slightly less promo but made up for it with controversy. Katy's number may have grown incrementally, but I don't see her having longevity in the industry 10 years from now.

Teenage Dream USA Debut : 192k
Sales to Date: 2.8 million
But y'all have your little "drag" fest. We'll see who laughs in the end.. again. It's cute that you think one week determines an album's success.

Total media saturation: radio, TV, print, billboards…and she's struggling to hit 300K?

Katy is not my fave, not by far lol.
I just think her numbers aren't as bad as you all claim them to be.
It has nothing to to with first week sales, in the end she will have the last laugh.

Why is this reported? It's factual. It's great she's improving but 300k is pathetic for THAT much promo she got plus single power. She should be doing 400k and up first week. She's dominating on every front but still isn't that far from what Miley got first week? That's honestly disappointing

Tik Tok was the biggest hit in 2009. How did it translate to Ke$ha's album sales? What did STIUTK, CMM and WAY do to the artists' album sales?
Michael Buble's album was among 2011's top three seller and does it have any hits?

To be honest, i expected more from her, considering all the hype & massive promo she's received. Anything less than 300k, would be a disappointment.

Check my posts, I'm not part of those.
I do admit I did expect Katy to sell 350k this time, but 300k - a number I'm positive she will surpass - is still pretty solid and a big improvement on her last debut.
No matter what you say, however, it's not good to use Britney's FF numbers as Katy's "defense", trust me.
