The version with Astro was originally intended to serve as a dual release. They released the single with Astro in the UK as a testing ground for the U.S., but it didn't as well as they probably expected. A lot of people thought Astro ruined the song. So, they canned the whole Astro version and released the remastered (radio edit) solo version of the song in the U.S., thus filming a new video. Basically, Astro was a waste of time. It was clearly planned for the U.S., but since it didn't work in the UK they saw it as pointless and went ahead without him.
