Yes we need more progressives running for president but we need people like him in the senate where they can get more done.
It'll be hurtful to have a progressive president yet still dealing with the gridlock in congress.
I am happy about this because it will keep Hillary on her toes & push her to more progressive ideals during the election cycle.

You say there will be gridlock then in the next sentence you expect Hillary to push progressive ideals during the election cycle. Do you understand what that will do? His being in the Senate is practically meaningless at this point, other then a vote for his party he won't accomplish anything the rest of his career. I like Bernie's the guy always is straight no BS even if I disagree with everything he says I respect the guy.

If Martin O'Malley joins too though, I'll be nervous. He could win over a TON of progressives (albeit w/o big money) but has no chance in the general which will only hurt Hillary in the long run.

It won't push her anywhere because he isn't a threat to her if anyone enters that threatens her it would be someone running to the right of her not the left. They will stick to the standard social issues but lean slightly more right on the economy and national debt. Do you think right when we are starting to recover the country wants the next POTUS to rip apart Wall Street? Warren isn't going to enter because she knows it's not her time to take Wall Street apart plus she would never get Congress on board.
O'Malley could only hurt Hillary if he won the nomination otherwise the progressives will just go back to Hillary.
The bottom line is my Liberal friends Congress is not going to allow any major progressive anything to happen in the next 8 years. So you can all get excited about who you want to win and all that but you are looking at gridlock or compromise if a Democrat wins. Either way you won't be so happy in a few years. These are the facts you probably should accept them.
