Yep. That just happened. This song, which happens to be Miss Abdul’s third consecutive US number 1 from the album, is actually pretty solid. The synths following the chorus hurt my soul, but other than that it’s SO enjoyable. Her voice is invested in the lyrics, which aren’t even bad. This was dangerously close to being a three-way tie with FYG and Opposites Attract.

This pleasant little new jack number got a seven from me. An eight or a nine would have been more appropriate now listening back. The harmonies during and after the chorus are life. How this reached number four and Black Cat reached number one on the Hot 100 is just, so beyond me.
