Fearless is most definitely not a classic album in the context of what this thread is asking for and will not be looked at as a classic album.
1989 is still wearing diapers.
Y'all are so quick to throw around classic when you really don't know what the word means in the first place. Lots of smash albums literally no one from "GeePee" to music journalists talk about; EVER. Madvillainy is (and will continue to be) a bigger classic than any Taylor albums in the future because it's influence & impact is still evident and referenced constantly 10 years later.

Why is it that no one can argue how rap albums are classics because they made made waves within the rap genre (which i agree with) but Fearless is not accepted as one despite it being THE biggest country classic of last decade (maybe even the 21st century so far).
You guys are so biased

Please tell me how I'm biased, seeing as I am a Taylor Swift fan.
Fearless has zero musical influence or impact. It sold a lot. That's it.
Taylor Swift has not shifted music itself in anyway.

Yeah, the fact a lot of country acts jumped to work with Nathan Chapman (who was previously recording demos on a garage before Taylor insisted to her label to keep him as her producer) after he had so much success with Taylor alone says otherwise.
You can't say certain rap albums are classics because they're relevant within their genre (which i agree with, as explained in my previous post in this thread), and then proceed to say Fearless hasn't made an impact, you can't have it both ways.

Actually it doesn't.
Putting someone on is not the same thing as an ALBUM being MUSICALLY influential. She has not influenced a shift in music. You don't hear a song and say "the layering is Taylor", "the songwriting style is Taylor", "these chord progressions are signature Swift", "this vocal styling is Swift" and so on and so forth. You don't.
I'll stop mentioning Rap albums that y'all haven't even listened to and give a better example. Purple Rain is a smash album, but also influential. Of recent times Frank Ocean's "Pyramids", Miguel's "FLESH" & Bruno Mars' "Gorilla" are directly MUSICALLY influenced by the work on Purple Rain (alongside other Prince albums).

People refer to Taylor`s writing style all the time.
And if you followed country, you will know that she brings country to a whole new audience, and the country community still gave her all their biggest award to celebrate her career despite she`s going pop which is such a honor consider how they hated when artists switch gernes.
And currently Kelsea Ballerini is smashing on country radio have talked about how Taylor is her biggest influent. Shawn Mendes has cited Taylor is his biggest musical influent .
And countless youtubers, talent show contestants have been inspired by her and pick up the guitar to write original songs.

People have been confessional songwriters for decades, she's not the first. She's not unique in regards to her style.

That isn't musical influence so you wasted keystrokes.

Yeah still, post a song where there is something that contains a Swift-signature. Lana Del Rey cited Eminem as an influence and musically his DNA is nowhere to be found in her music to date. Owen Pallett cited Mariah Carey as an influence and one of his favorite artists ever and her musical DNA is not in his music.
I can link countless songs in ranges of genre that have Dr. Dre, RZA, DJ Quik, J Dilla, Mariah Carey, Prince, Michael Jackson, Kanye West, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye & lots of other artists musical DNA scattered all over it. You can not do that for Taylor Swift.

Y'all saying that Taylor doesnt have a classic album. Admit it that when you were younger, you got addicted to Love Story, You Belong, Teardrops on My Guitar etc
You forgot that Fearless is the most awarded country album of all time. Dont try to discredit her just because your fave cant have as much success as my fave have. Two AOTY is part of HISTORY and you are not. The people who thinks negatively about things are the ones that are FORGOTTEN. ADMIT IT!
5 consecutive successful eras, 5 consecutive successful album, 3 consecutive successful world tours and many more! Damn those haters!

Actually it does. As it was previously explained on the quote you posted, Taylor Swift made an impact on the country scene, there is more to "influence" / "impact" than just people wanting to do songs that sound similar to your own or something.
And regarding what you just said, a snippet of a Kelsea Ballerini song called "Roses" leaked, and people were so sure it was featuring Taylor that she had to come out and confirm it wasn't.
Talking about Kelsea Ballerini, she said Taylor was one of the main reasons she started writing songs (as we're talking about Fearless, what a coincidence she managed to mention it as well )
And also, speaking about other songs also named "Roses", The Chainsmokers mentioned Taylor and Max Martin as some of the inspirations behind that song
Conclusion: Taylor Swift has made an impact on music, as acknowledged by many, many artists by now
If you don't want to acknowledge the impact that the artist themselves are mentioning, then that's pretty much your own problem
