I think she wanted to expand and reached out to Auerbach who wasn't so keen on her in the beginning. He is not the type of producer who will do anything just for the cash. He is really profilic with a well respected & successful band, has a Grammy for producer of the year, so the material she offered was interesting enough for him.

LOL, Paradise basically consisted of BTD leftovers. That would explain why it's not as flawless as BTD lyrically.
Although,Ride, Bel Air, Yayo, Burning Desire and even Cola were well written, the rest was trash but I wasn't even talking about lyrics. All I said was that sonically, Paradise is superior to Born To Die which suffers from its production and overproduced vocals.

The AKA version is nostalgic & dreamy, while the Paradise version sounds tragic & haunting.

Maybe but BTD, as gorgeous as it is, sounds empty and lifeless whereas Paradise sounds alive and very organic. Emile Hayne did a terrible job re-producing the whole album. Especially with the overuse of certain samples ( that damn YOU THERE!?, LOUDER! sample was literally in every single song on the album ).

Anyway, once again I think this song will be different from past singles.

I don't think it's like "Ride".


It looks like it will be a happy anthem with a tempo (she's jumping around in the music video) "Fist Pumping" "West Coast Representing" type song.
