Kent Jones would have a shot at #1 as well if his sales weren't so low. Don't Mind is slightly above CT on radio, ODS, and YT. It's only forecast to sell 44K this week, though.

Regardless of that it doesn't seem like CSTF will ever pass One Dance again.

Will My Boo possibly make the bottom 100 on the Year end chart?

Could Cheap Thrills eventually go #1? It's #2 on ITunes but idk how much higher it will go on Spotify(currently #10)

I was referring to his sales and constant green updates on Kworb, but I need to remember streaming has taken over and no matter what kind of lead he has in sales the stronger streaming force always comes out on top.
At least he debuted #1.

Definitely a contender. It still has a lot of room to grow in all metrics. Since it just entered the top 10 on Spotify, it should be able to climb a bit more. And it's smashing on radio, seems to be a given top 3 radio hit, at least. So it very well could be! I sure hope so

Cheap Thrills doesn't even have a music video yet, right?

I knew the remix had a lyric video, and just saw that the original has a performance video. I don't think she'll do an official remix video, but if she does that #1 could be a lot easier.

Cheap Thrills needs a music video. It'll go #1 so quickly.

In Common is fairly close.
I'm not tracking the other 2, but I will add them when I update

Nick Jonas feat. Tove Lo, "Close"
Quote:
The ballad rebounds 27-14 on the Hot 100, passing its prior No. 15 peak, as Jonas' new album, Last Year Was Complicated, debuts on the Billboard 200 at No. 2. The song gains in all metrics and adds the Hot 100's top Digital and Streaming Gainer awards, bounding 26-11 on Digital Songs (53,000 downloads sold, up 61 percent, according to Nielsen Music); 32-18 on Streaming Songs (8.6 million U.S. streams, up 17 percent); and 29-25 on Radio Songs (44 million in airplay audience, up 5 percent).
|
Meghan Trainor, "Me Too"
Quote:
All six of Trainor's singles as a lead artist have now hit the Hot 100's top 20, with "Me Too" continuing the streak as it jumps 31-18. On Digital Songs, the single surges 14-10 (57,000 sold, up 17 percent). It also lifts 33-27 on Streaming Songs (7.4 million, up 3 percent) and debuts on Radio Songs at No. 46 (26 million, up 22 percent).
|
Ruth B, "Lost Boy"
Quote:
The Canadian singer/songwriter, who first found an audience by posting song performances on Vine in 2013, rises 25-24 on the Hot 100 with her debut single (which started as a snippet on Vine). The piano ballad rises 10-9 on Digital Songs (58,000) and 35-27 on Radio Songs (42 million, up 8 percent). It holds at its No. 8 high on the Adult Pop Songs airplay chart. "Program directors are not fond of slower-tempo records, for the most part," Columbia Records senior vp of promotion, adult radio, Pete Cosenza says. "That's been the biggest challenge to getting Ruth B on the radio, the slow tempo. But, 90 percent of them have said, 'We're going to try it.' [Then] listener reaction has been massive." Now, our favorite Ruth-related chart fun fact (updating from last month, when "Lost Boy" hit the Hot 100's top 40): Ruth B, whose full last name is Berhe, is just the second woman named Ruth ever to hit the Hot 100, and, as of the list dated July 2 (which happens to be Ruth B's 21st birthday), both have reached career-best No. 24 peaks. The first such artist (who also could've gone by the name Ruth B) was Ruth Brown, who charted six songs in 1958 (the Hot 100's first year) through 1962, one of which hit the top 40: "This Little Girl's Gone Rockin' " rolled to No. 24 in 1958.

Flume feat. Kai, "Never Be Like You"
Quote:
The track continues to climb following the No. 1 bow of Flume's Skin on the June 18 Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. The collab enters the Hot 100's top 40 (46-36) and debuts at No. 27 on Digital Songs (30,000 sold, up 72 percent).
|
DNCE, "Toothbrush"
Quote:
After "Cake," you need a "Toothbrush": As "Cake by the Ocean" continues its five-month stay in the Hot 100's top 25 (after reaching No. 9), DNCE's follow-up debuts at No. 98. It's up by 28 percent to 15 million in radio audience.

This passive aggressive post. His lead in sales isn't that big anymore. When it was, he was #1. He's basically on par/less in other areas like streaming/radio despite having the edge of 2 videos and radio pushes. Sorry the charts haven't been based purely on sales ever.
