As i said, personal tastes can difer. And btw, i'm not completely draggiing SN here, actually, my most fave Taylor song is in that album (Mean) But Taylor Swift is a crossover country-pop artist (at least she claims so) SN had 0 pop impact, that's why Taylor worked with MM on Red. Red in the same way, lacked country impact, but overall Red's impact > SN.
But i agree with the bolded part in some sense, i mean, fans of her is not her fans because she makes quality music, but they're fans because they can relate to her songs. I completely agree with this one, i already said it many times before. That's why, i think quality is not the cirtical question for LP5, the question is if Taylor can write the same songs that her fans'd love to listen to, or she'll also change her topics

Reading these posts is making me all nostalgic and ****. I remember coming home from highschool and listening to Speak Now and Fearless for hours upon hours. Sometimes I'd wake up in the middle of the night with my ears hurting because my earbuds were still in.

No offense if there are any old fans here, but i'm not so sure about her fanbase's age distribution and some other things. I mean, of course she has some old fans but in percentages, how much of her fans are the old people ? Her fanbase's main demographic is still teenage girls.
And there's a reason why songs like Mean or 22 didn't slay so hard in the charts while the songs like YBWM,LS,IKYWT or even WANEGBT (which i believe it wasn't a quality song) did. Taylor's known for these kind of songs.

Then a question comes to my mind, why do people here hate so much about MM, if they think Taylor can produce great quality songs in the albums while thee's still plenty of room for MM tracks ( to get more attention from those people who are outside of her fanbase) (and they (MM tracks) are not that bad, fans here actually overreact about that too)
The lead single will be an empowerment/love anthem.
Seriously tho, I hope she milks everything from The Giver: acting, Harvey, soundtrack, Grammys etc...
