I dont think she really wanted BTGOG to do anything on the charts at all. It was more important for her due to its message. Besides, she didnt really have anything else to perform. and It was nice to close PRISM with the first track she wrote for it

Capitol were thinking of releasing it as a single if it received enough streams / went high enough on iTunes, which it obviously didn't. I mean, why else would they upload the audio to VEVO a couple of days before her Grammys performance?

BTGOG was kinda like a "promo single" a la Walking on Air, that's why It was uploaded to her VEVO, too. And yeah,she performed it because she liked closing the era in that way, singing the first song she wrote for the record and that closes the standard edition
