They're never gonna make a Scream 5. Kevin Williamson had a whole storyline planned for the new Scream Trilogy (4-6) but he got into a fight with the Weinstein brothers. He got kicked off set towards the end of the film and they hired someone else to rewrite the ending (the hospital scene). Scream 4 underperformed and those two still haven't reconciled so yeah, I highly doubt it will happen .. .

They could get someone else to write it but I don't like someone else just taking over that vision since Williamson had a full trinity planned and written.

They got the writer for Scream 3 for the hospital ending

Also both Jill and Kirby were meant to live so when they rewrote the ending and killed both off, it completely messed up the plans for the trilogy.

I actually think 'The Following' is what 'Scream 5' was meant to be, with Jill being in the Joe Carroll role, Sidney or Dewey being the Kevin Bacon character and Kirby being the character played by the 'Lost' actress, notice how that characters wound is exactly where Kirbys was.

SO happy to hear it's been renewed. Even if the rumours are true about S3 only having 6 episodes, I'll be satisfied. S3 just needs to tie up any loose ends i.e why Sheriff Acosta is so shady etc. S3 will be this shows natural end.
