As much as it pains me to say this, Lady Gaga is not in the same place that she was in 2013. Because of her not being a streaming giant, billboard rules changing, nobody buying digital sales anymore, she isn't someone who debuts in the top 5 first week anymore. It also doesn't help that most people think Applause was her last single. DWUW and GUY had ZERO impact with the public.
Y'all need to just take a break, hope for the best, and jam to the new album in a new months.
Even if this era is a disastrous bomb, girl will be ok. She has a role in Bradley Cooper's new film, she's on AHS. She has other endeavorers in her life besides releasing pop albums.

Coincidentally the last time she had VMA or Pop Grammy nominations were in her "fame Gaga" days.
ARTPOP was critically dragged and PI isn't doing much better (Billboard calling it her second worst lead).
In the end it seems like she was doing more artistic and real music in her fame days...the irony !

Idk where everyone gets the impression that Lady Gaga can't have big hits anymore because she's been gone for too long. Meghan Trainor came out of nowhere with 0 fans and had one of the biggest hits of all time. Lady Gaga is one of the most popular names. She just needs to start releasing good pop music again. She should put her ego aside and work with talented producers like Max Martin and make classics. As someone has said earlier, what happened popmusicwillneverbelowbrowGa? It seems like she's trying to make artsy/critically acclaimed stuff these days and it's just backfiring on her. It's kind of hard to watch as a fan.

ARTPOP was rightfully dragged, but PI is getting a good amount of praise. And her last Grammy nomination was for BTW, an album that ATRL and FameGa stans claim isn't that good

The fact of the matter is that I'm literally forcing myself to tolerate the song, it's really not good at all, but until we get the album or the second single I will deal with this one. Does that answer your question ?
And since you brought the Judas situation into this, I've been saying since day one that this was a bad single choice, and back then it was #1 on itunes with a big lead. So not sure if it applies !
