Really? Yea it's wordy , but I think the only "off" or "odd" part is right afterwards , where she says "turning my cheek for the sake of this show". I dont really get it and it doesnt go with the melody but I'll just pretend it's about American Idol
You don't get the meaning of the lyrics or you just don't like how it sounds? "The show" is obviously Hollywood and the industry. And of course, the "turning my cheek" line if from the saying, "that refers to responding to an aggressor without violence."
I honestly think this has a fighting chance. It's the only midtempo song that is out and I think her only compeition will be P!nk but again, CMB > Try.

Ah, that makes sense. but yes, I still dont like how just that particular phrase sounds. but who gives a ****. honeybadger dont give a ****
I'm so guilty of having been greedy and wanting a dance/electro song so it can be an easy #1. I love CMB, pure mix of emotions while celebrating at the same time....and exactly what a greatest hits album is supposed to be about. I'm beyond happy this is the first GH single
but i've got my eye on that 6th album for electro/dance music......
Anyone else hearing some Kylie, 'Get Outta My Way' in the beginning?
I think this is the perfect song to sum up her first 5 albums. I am convinced it is going to smash too. I really like the opening of second verse, "Addicted to the love I found." I feel like it's a reference to Addicted from Breakaway. She's come so far since then
This might be a really weird comparison but the bridge of CMB is giving me Celine Dion teas in "I Want You to Need Me". Something about the way she sings "In everything".. even her vocals on the high note. I wish she held that note longer
