I know Madonna fans think they're getting the last laugh by cackling at Gaga right now, but I'm not sure they realize just how transparent it is from the outside looking in. Like let's be clear - "Perfect Illusion" sounds nothing like PDP, let's just not.

It's a cute attempt though.
Secondly - Gaga blatantly knows that it's not going to be a smash pop hit, like she knows, so trying to be like "kii it isn't charting!!" is again, simply sharing your obsession with the internet. She has not bothered attempting to create something that adapts to current trends, and to release untouched vocals on a lead single track is a pretty blatant statement that she's rejecting mainstream norms.
Anyway, I've always thought of myself as a bigger Gaga fan than a Madonna one but I think that's finally changed. I love Gaga's pop music The Fame all the way to ARTPOP but now that she's decided to be an "artist" first and create what she wants for herself first ahead of her fans, which is her prerogative, it's unfortunately alienated me. I'm not here for jazz or rock. That being said, the rest of the album may be pop and maybe she just wanted one damn single to be a rock star.
Anyway, sorry for this Gaga spiel but it's not like she hasn't been on ya'lls mind. My twitter has been infatuated with Madonna stan accounts tweeting things about Gaga. It's a shame we can't just talk about our own most successful female artist of all time fave instead of something it appears people don't like.

Can't wait to ignore my family on Christmas day in order to watch the Rebel Heart Tour.
