“Ratchette” Performance
Conan: My next guest tonight is pop AND urban sensation Céline Dion!
*Applause*
Céline’s spotlight went on. She had a huge graffiti wall behind her with “RATCHETTE” painted all over it. She wore all black, including a glittery tube top over a denim jacket. She began to sing “Ratchette”, the Barbara Streisand featured original track. She began to perform some choreography in the pre-chorus. For the chorus she jumped around and continued her choreography. Barbara’s feature came around, as the dancers and Céline grabbed some graffiti and began to vandalize the wall. Céline’s vocals were solid and fun, like many of her previous performances. The bridge came early, with Céline dancing to the beat hard and going in on choreography. She ran up to the wall and flipped off of it with the help of her dancers and then she sang acapella for a bit. Then, she danced to the last chorus and worked her ass of vocally, singing the ad-libs over the main lyrics being play backed. A huge firework-like “BOOM!” came at the end of her performance, with the audience up on their feet.
Interview
Conan: Let’s get you down here Céline!
*Céline comes down with Conan and they are seated*
Céline: Hi baes and America!
Conan: So Céline, loved your performance and loved the new single-
Céline: Thanks!
Conan: -but WHEN are we getting this album?!?!
Céline: It’s coming really soon! Revolution Records is taking a bit of a break this week and next week — we’ll be back at the end of January with some very exciting stuff!
Conan: You didn’t answer my question fully though!
*Laughter*
Céline: I know EVERYBODY wants to know when ‘#TurntUp’ is coming out but it’ll be worth the wait I swear!
Conan: Do you think it’s safe to call you the Urban Queen — I mean after all you are the only female to top the Urban chart, doing it twice in fact. How’s that?
Céline: I call myself a Ratchette Girl — Urban Queen is a bit overrated and bland, but that doesn’t mean I don’t mind it…
*Laughter*
Conan: Where are you right now?
Céline: I feel like I’m heading towards a new peak in my career. I’m just so happy getting ready to unveil this album! It’s going to be AMAZING!!! I’m about to announce the 2nd Single from ‘#TurntUp’ if my baes can tweet the right guess!
Conan: Well we will definitely be following that! Thanks for coming to perform and talk a bit!
Céline: My pleasure! Bye guys!
M.I.A.'s "BAD GIRLS" VIDEO UNDER FIRE FOR CULTURAL INSENSITIVITY
M.I.A. has just dropped the video for her comeback single "Bad Girls" a few days - and with the video gaining a nice 750.000+ views, it has been recently growing rapidly as M.I.A. has been a topic of controversy among critics and reporters. Today the New York Times newspaper bashed M.I.A.'s video, calling it "culturally insensitive" and "a bad influence". The video features a concept of Middle Eastern badasses. CNN has also commented on the video, saying it is "a bit too much" of content which may cross racial/cultural lines. Other critics have deemed the video as controversial, giving it poor reviews. Knowing M.I.A., a statement or response may be coming very soon.
ERIC SAADE GUEST STARS ON THE WALKING DEAD
Eric Saade guest starred on The Walking Dead this week, filming a short episode while the current season was being filmed a couple weeks ago. Saade played a character in the show who was smart and intelligent but wasn't featured the entire episode. Only in for about fifteen minutes total he still showed off some acting chops, blending right in on the level of acting with the other stars of the show. Saade's song 'Sophistication' was used in the credits of the show as well.
A short clip of M.I.A.'s new interview with MTV began to air earlier this week, now getting put on a bit of higher rotation with other linked channels such as MTV U and MTV Hits. M.I.A.'s clip is about thirty seconds and she discusses filming the video for "Bad Girls", her new single.
"Filming the video for Bad Girls was a total blast. I shot the video with Romain Gavras, who shot my video for Born Free ages ago. Reuniting was crazy, and on camera all of us just went total bat-**** insane. I got some bitches, people from the roads and local towns came and we just did it. The whole process felt so natural and something I think the song fits perfectly. I can't wait for the new album!"
Eric Saade had an interview today with Entertainment Weekly where he talked about his new album Expose (insert E with accent too lazy) and how it is on set with Paige Elliot, Daniel Craig, and more on Bond 24, the newest installment of the Bond films.
EW: Your album has been quite a success for you. Do you feel any pressure with making the next record?
ES: Not at all really. Sales don't matter at all to me. Like if you want illegally download it. If you like it that's really all that matters. But my label doesn't think the same way as me I'm sure.
EW: The next single 'I Swear' will be sent to radio next week. How do you think it'll perform?
ES: Well I hope. I'll be promoting it next week so everything should go well I think.
EW: You've been filming Bond 24. How is working on set with Paige and David?
ES: They're great. Everybody on set is ver accepting and just kind. We all share the same passion
EW: Who do you get a long with the most?
ES: Paige. We both do the music and acting thing so we have a lot in common. She's a really good person. Very down to Earth.
EW: Lastly, which city are you most excited to tour?
Wendy: Our next guest today is someone who’s been flying high on Paper Planes and is fearless! I love her, it’s M.I.A.!
*M.I.A. walks in*
*M.I.A. is seated*
Wendy: So how are you doing M.I.A. — SO glad to have you here?
M.I.A.: I’m doing pretty amazing. You?
Wendy: Fabulous as always! So tell me, what’s all this talk about your new video?
M.I.A.: *takes off sunglasses* You know, I honestly think people are so damn hypocritical. The New York Times have been after me for like… half a decade? They’re calling my video “culturally insensitive” towards Middle Eastern people. But lemme ask you this: don’t Middle Eastens get a ton of ******** every single day just because of stereotyping?
*Applause*
M.I.A.: I’m serious. People can be so judgmental and rude and then as soon as some new **** comes up, they decide to dump all the blame on them. I’m from Sri Lanka and England. I’ve lived through a war. I know what it is, but all these critics and reporters — do they?
*Applause*
Wendy: Spilling that TRUE TEA. This is WHY I love her! You truly do not care about what others think and you truly don’t let anyone stop your vision, I have major respect for that and more women should definitely take from this.
M.I.A.: I try to be a voice. I have one, so I’m going to use it. I feel women nowadays are gaining more leverage, but we could still do a bit better!
Wendy: Indeed we do. I think the world needs to see M.I.A. out there? What do you guys think?!?!
*Cheering*
M.I.A.: I’m so flattered, but I don’t really promote that much unless something BIG kinda randomly happens. It’s a lot more about the music and I am extremely excited to share all the new material I have in store.
Wendy: Speaking of new material — you released a mixtape this week! What was behind that?
M.I.A.: Making this album there were so many different sounds I wanted to do, but when we were putting the record together it just didn’t feel as cohesive as I hoped. So I just decided releasing a mixtape would be so much better!
Wendy: I’ve listened to some of it, it’s actually amazing and it’s been getting such great comments so congratulations on that!
M.I.A.: Thank you!
Wendy: So… do you watch Real Housewives?
*Laughter*
M.I.A.: No, but I wish I was one!
*Laughter*
Wendy: Oh yeah that’s right you have a child!
M.I.A.: I do! Yes I keep my personal life and music separate — I mean, I don’t think my child should be listening to some of my album yet… oops…
*Laughter*
Wendy: How political CAN you get when rapping?
M.I.A.: It all depends on a place where the world is when the record is in process. With this album, I’ve definitely explored new sounds that I think will be highly appreciated on a global scale. But of course there are many just, fun tracks to listen to. It’s an overall Electronic album with a lot of Indie and Urban sounds to it. It’s so many genres combined I don’t know if I can list them all!
Wendy: Can’t wait! So who are your favorite artists right now?
M.I.A.: Hmmmm… I like Charli XCX. I also like Christina Aguilera, she’s been a legend since forever. And SugarNSpice are absolutely ridiculous, but in a good way of course!
*Laughter*
Wendy: Alright well thank you so much for visiting.
M.I.A.: It was SO awesome to be here! I don’t promote for **** much, so since I was planning I knew I had to come here!
Wendy: AWWW!
*Hugs*

Saade: Thank you so much. Everyone's been showing me so much love.
Capital FM: You deserve. Your family back home. How did they react with the news of you going #1 on the singles and albums chart?
Saade: They were probably just as or even more happy than me. They're so supportive of me. I really appreciate having them in my life.
Capital FM: You're about to tour London again soon, can we expect any changes?
Saade: The tour will be revamped. Stage set up a bit different and the setlist updated as time progresses. I believe I'm back here in March so the setlist will be very different than how it is now. I want to keep the tour fresh you know?
Capital FM: You've collaborated on the Sophistication remix with Azealia Banks remix. How was that?
Saade: I honestly don't know. I had no idea she was even supposed to be on it. My label contacted her and asked her and she said yes. She recorded her verse and I woke up and it was out. But I'm gonna say it's nice. I really love her verse.

"RATCHETTE" DANITY KANE MUSIC VIDEO: MTV WORLD PREMIERE
Once again, Céline has called up MTV to premiere her new music video. Although it's for "Ratchette", the video features the Show Stopper remix with collaborators Danity Kane. An estimated 6.8M viewers from the US were watching the event, about 1M more than the original "Ratchette" version. The video was very Urban, yet simple. Two Danity Kane members - Dawn and Aundrea had black backgrounds with white clothing on them to contrast while Shannon and Aubrey had white walls and black clothing on. Céline wore both colors as her wall was a pale grey. The video was filled with TONS of choreography, and way more dancers than before. The video also featured more sexual moves and a more risqué factor than the original "Ratchette" version. Overall, the video was very high-end, simplistic and fierce. At the end of the video all five of the women take the camera, drop it on the floor and leave, strutting away from the scene as the camera blurs/malfunctions out.
*Excuse me having no huge plot, it's just a remix video + I'm on mobile right now so yeah*
VEVO GO SHOW
Eric Saade perforemd a Vevo Go Show performance for his second single 'Sophistication'. Taken place in London, Saade was transported inside a doubledecker bus to the outside of the Royal Albert Hall. Two double decker buses joined them but they were shorted than the one that transported Saade. Fans looked puzzled as cameras rolled and lights began flashing and Saade rose out of the top of the double decker bus, the audience weeping and cheering as he smiled out at them, wearing a black suit. He began singing the song in a handhelf microphone before the pre-chorus kicked in and he handed it to a dancer who also came out of the same bus as him. Jumping from one bus to another he did dance routines and such on the buses, doing some dancing that involved heavy footwork, justifying him as an excellent dancer and one of the best in music. At the bridge the other two buses drove away and fireworks shot from them as dancers began waving signs of different countries behind him. He ended the performance with a platform of the bus giving in and him disappearing as the fans continued waiting for the show.
VEVO INTERVIEW
V: You've had a big 2013 and big beginning of 2014. What does the rest of 2014 hold for you?
ES: Hopefully amazing opportunities to make great music, success is always nice, and definitely some really exciting projects.
V: If you could've been anything other than a singer or a dancer, what would've you been?
ES: Definitely a doctor. I don't know why btu a doctor.
V: PC or Mac?
ES: Mac.
V: Sophistication or Can't Please Everybody
ES: I adore both but definitely Sophistication
V: I Swear is the next single. Any reason you chose it?
ES: I feel like with the album sort of a balance between ballads and uptempos, it'd be a perferct introduction to the somber side of the album. I feel like the general public would really like it.
