Can't say anything about the first paragraph since I haven't seen it yet, but the second paragraph is such a large staple in any kind of sci-fi/space operas that it doesn't bother me anymore. Otherwise I would hate Star Wars because they can be pretty guilty of that too.

I found all the characters to be very well-developed and I think he's thinking wayyyyy too much into how "realistic" it is (it's meant to be a fun movie where you shouldn't be thinking "hey, they can't do that!"). And I found Ronan to be Marvel's second best villain yet. Very accurate to the comic books.

My guess is if you liked MoS, you'll probably like BvS. I dislike Zack Snyder and Gal Gadot so I have very low expectations of it.

I don't read them but I do take some time and read Wikipedia articles on characters and go into the more thorough comic book wikis to have a general knowledge. I WANT to get into comics but they are just so spread out and have crazy timelines and legacy storylines that it just comes off really intimidating.

My main complaint about BvS is that I wanted a real sequel to MOS. But Ben Affleck is a good choice for Batman imho, it's just way too soon. TDKR still looms over DC and will for another few years, like TDK before it.

Name one "bad-ass" thing she does. that time she gets beaten up by 4 wimpy looking prisoners and needs saved by Peter? That time where Peter and Rocket are trying to fight back and she gets shot into space and nerds to be saved by Peter? That time Rocket crashes his ship into the big ship and Peter needs to dive her to the ground so she doesn't get squashed? That boring ass fight with Nebula she only won by luck and coincidence?

Basically: Every Man in the Universe > Deadliest Woman In The Universe > Every Woman in the Universe.

Eye candy and only there to be a love interest is not how I like my female characters to be treated.

I think the problem with BvS is that it's going to continue this 'super dark and le edgy' tone that I'm just tired of. It worked in the Nolan-verse, but we're not in that anymore. Superman isn't dark and edgy. His best stories are when he ISN'T dark and edgy.
