First of all, the award was for the ARTIST, not the ALBUM. Bey is a way better artist and actually FIT into that category.
Second of all, '4' is no flop, it will hit 2 million next week in less than 5 months. And sales don't matter when being nominated.
Third of all, Rihanna is POP. The reason why she was nominated for R&B was because of her color.
