So there are 39 playable characters in Brawl (counting transformations, not counting Pokemon Trainer). So far in Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, there have been 34 characters unveiled (counting Pac Man and Mr. Game and Watch). Am pretty sure Ganondorf, Captain Falcon, and Ness are shoe-ins for the character roster so that'll be 37 characters in total. 40+ characters maybe?
