I love Kanto, I love the 151, I love the characters and plot, I love the glitches, I love the difficulty.. But given that I properly began the series with Diamond and only really played Crystal from pre gen 3, it's a real challenge for me putting up with some of this ****ery.

Ugh I don't even have any water types that can learn Surf I don't have fly and I left my Squirtle in the day care. I need a water type and I don't even know where to look.
I'm not teaching my Mew Surf and he's the only one that can learn it

I mean yeah definitely. It's like any game from the time, it's just ruthless in that the lack of basic things we've become used to mean you really need to plan in advance what you're going to do.
It's super fun to be this challenged during gameplay, I bet Sun and Moon will be a let down in comparison
It's hilarious how these are probably the most non linear games in the entire series
