It doesn't matter if it's darker or has more of a rock tinge to it, it still sounds like a song Katy would make right down to the vocal style/phrasing. But it's clearly a style Max Martin has perfected and so isn't really a case of Demi trying to be Katy.

Lyrically I can hear it, but their style of phrasing is so different, not to mention Katy would have to lower the key a whole step or two
The production is the same vain because it's Max Martin, but Katy wouldn't opt for such a rugged sound.
