Home probably won't make any impact musically. If TTS's performance is any indication I foresee it passing without most of the GP knowing it exists. TTS is a quality song too and it was just ignored. Radio will pick AO over it as its from the album and Home will come and go.

If people don't support the song because of american being in the title and lyrics, then so be it. She shouldn't have to walk on eggshells trying to appease everyone, the video clearly features the american flag. She wanted to capture the patriotic vibe changing the title would be dumb at this point

HOME is a movie....in which Rihanna performs 3 or 4 songs. Are soundtrack songs really meant to be hits? Especially for animated movies?

I wouldn't write TTS off just yet. If she doesn't do any performance for it then yeah it will be forgotten but a the very least 1 performance at the KCA or something could kick start it. We'll see.

Edit: PITUSA didn't even do that badly in Europe/outside of America. Top 10 in Australia, France, Canada, NZ, Ireland, Japan and #11 in the UK.

The song is by no means doomed and the lyrics won't kill its chances, but it may not generate as much interest as another song from the album possibly could - that's purely comparing the premises.
It can also make up for the lyrics on other aspects.

Either way, I'm still not convinced they'd even try to push this internationally. That's not them "walking on eggshells", but just being reasonable and smart about it.

Oh, and for the record, I have no issue with the lyrics and patriotism has never concerned me. Simply being objective.
