Well there's many different reasons, first thing that comes to mind is religious teachings. (even though I am religious I know that a lot of religious scriptures say that homosexuality is a sing), also society doesn't like to see effeminate men, whether it be on t.v or other sources of media. The media portrays lots of men as manly and empowering and when they see a gay man and he's effeminate they think he's weak. It's all just a matter of perception/society and what they think. Sadly it feels like time goes back 1000000000 years when people feel like gays are unnatural beings or CHOOSE to be that way
