ATRL's got it all wrong, who the **** cares if a lot of people know Gaga wore a meat dress or Taylor bitched another female pop star, this is the stuff that really matters
i was reading the Broadway To Celebrate Gaga thread and i thought it would be cool if they did something like that for Katy songs
surprise surprise they are doing shows like that 2 weeks before the gaga one, the tickets are more expensive and there are 2 shows not only one, i thought about make a thread but meh i don't feel like being messy right now and is not THAT big of a deal, maybe if someone try Katy in that thread we can get our kiis

Broadway Loves Katy Perry
On July 13th over a dozen of Broadway’s most distinctive voices will celebrate larger-than-life recording artist Katy Perry at 54 Below, singing many of her most fun-loving and heartfelt hits.
Katy Perry burst onto the scene in the summer of 2008 with the scandalous smash hit “I Kissed A Girl” and has since become a mainstay of popular culture. She became the first female artist to have 5 number-one singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 from the same album – the mulch-platinum “Teenage Dream.” Now, over a dozen of your Broadway favorites are beating the summer heat as they take the 54 Below stage to bring new life to her greatest hits! Audiences can expect to hear the hit singles
“Firework,” “Roar,” “Hot ‘N’ Cold,” “Waking Up In Vegas,” “Last Friday Night,” as well as some of her more introspective tunes, “Not Like The Movies,” “By The Grace of God,” and more. Kitty Purry and Left Shark might even make a guest appearance!
The starry cast is set to include:
Taylor Louderman (NBC’s ‘Peter Pan Live,’ Bring It On: The Musical)
Ben Fankhauser (Newsies, Spring Awakening)
Adrienne Warren (‘Orange Is The New Black,’ Bring It On: The Musical)
Corey Cott (Gigi, Newsies)
Olivier award winner Lesli Margherita (Matilda)
Emma Hunton (Wicked, Spring Awakening, Next to Normal)
Ryann Redmond (If/Then, Bring It On: The Musical)
Daniel Quadrino (Wicked, Newsies)
Janet Krupin (If/Then, Hands on a Hard Body)
Hannah Elless (Bright Star, Godspell)
Lauren Ashley Zakrin (Rock of Ages, Natasha Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812)
Ariana Groover (Holler If Ya Hear Me, Bare)
Desi Oakley (Wicked, Annie, Evita)
Jeff Heimbrock (Newsies, The Book of Mormon)
Stephanie Torns (Wicked)
…and more soon to be announced!
The evening will be produced and music directed by Benjamin Rauhala, and is the 6th in the Broadway Loves series, which previously celebrated Sam Smith, Celine Dion, the Spice Girls, Britney Spears, and the music of the 90’s.
I actually think K4 will open with at least 300k. She may have had a few flops with PRISM but she's a much bigger star than she was in October 2013
I agree. She won't be able to pull anything close to like 1m but she will outsell PRISM's first week. It depends on the lead single, really. If it's another Roar or better in terms of instantaneous impact and success, she could pull in as high as 400k, possibly. I definitely think that she should have two very successful singles prior to the album though.
