Well thank you for the support left-handed friend
I was going to use a right handed thumbs up GIF, but for the sake of #unity I went with both.

DAY 43: THE SCORES

It is now time to see if the judges liked your song selections for the theme of SPRING! Who soared and who fell flat? Read their comments!
1. Yvess - Celine Dion - A New Day Has Come
Quote:
Dylan - 9.5 - Beautiful track. The theme of rebirth is a strong aspect of this song from the lyrics to the atmospheric feeling of winter fading and springtime coming into play. It's a hopeful track that demonstrates what Element is looking for this round. Nice pick!
Quote:
Nicole - 10/10 - Honestly, I think this is absolutely the perfect choice for the theme you were given! Such a beautiful and inspiring song. Celine finding love (well, it's about her child I know but obviously it could be taken to be about a lover if you ignore that) has made her feel reborn and full of love and happiness again. Coming out of the dark (winter) into the light (spring/summer). Great song and the best entry out of the bunch!
Quote:
Ethan - 9 - I love the atmosphere of this song and the chorus feels very renewing! I love the lyrics about rain, joy, light, etc. Not every lyric fits, but it is overwhelmingly spring-y. Great choice!
2. Flame Beat Z000 - U2 - Beautiful Day
Quote:
Dylan - 8.5 - It's definitely a hopeful track with the lyrics describing a crappy day and then transitioning into a beautiful day to enjoy. It could apply to either spring or summer at some points which is where it's not a perfect choice but for the most part, it feels spring-like both lyrically and sonically. Good choice.

Nicole - 9/10 - Another great pick here. To me, I just get the message that sometimes we ignore the little things in life and take them for granted when really we have many things around us that should be making us feel joy and happiness. So it's about not letting anything get you down and reminding us to take notice of another beautiful day that we were given so that we make the most of it. This is what I was looking for in the songs submitting, a message of inspiration and positivity!

Ethan - 7
This is a strong choice as far as the chorus is concerned, but I'm having trouble understanding what a lot of the lyrics mean ("See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out"?), so it's hard for me to interpret them as spring-y.
3. Regina George - Hilary Duff - Chasing the Sun
Quote:
Dylan - 7 - Well, like "Beautiful Day" I get the whole transition from a stressful life to a carefree day. However, I feel more of a summer vibe with this song than a spring one with the lyrics giving off a "let's ditch work and head to the beach to catch some waves" message more so than a spring awakening. Still, an okay choice.
Quote:
Nicole - 7/10 - Well the song fits the theme so at least you didn't miss the mark with tyour choice. However, I will say that out of the songs that fit the theme well this is probably the weakest. I mean it makes me feel the least inspired and joyful. The lyrics are kind of bland and generic and don't really evoke any strong emotion as you listen to them. So for that reason I cannot rate it as strongly as some of the others but your rating from me is still very decent nonetheless.
Quote:
Ethan - 9
It's a bit repetitive, so there isn't a lot of variety in the lyrics, but all of the lyrics fit really well and it has some great light, fun themes. Terrible song, but awesome choice!
4. Remmy - Johnny Nash - I Can See Clearly Now
Quote:
Dylan - 9 - The lyrics reflect rebirth and hopefulness towards the future which is what Element asked for this round. I also love that the song actually seems to take place in transition from april showers to may flowers which is commonly associated with spring. Cool choice.
Quote:
Nicole - 10/10 - I'm happy to see that all of the people who hit the nail on the head in this round really got it all the way right! Fabulous choice. What a classic for one and two you can't really help but feeling joyous when listening to this song. I also feel the theme of rebirth when listening to it, like no matter what you've been through you can transform and have yourself a bright sunshiney day if you just put your mind to it.
Quote:
Ethan - 8
The lyrics fit the theme very, very well, there just aren't a lot of lyrics. I can't justify giving it a 10 when there are barely 10 lines of lyrics. Still a great choice!
5. Bloomers - Of Montreal - Springtime Is The Season
Quote:
Dylan - 7 - This is a good example that songs with the theme present in the title aren't always good choices. The last stanza of the lyrics are really the only lyrics that tackle the theme at all and while they do an adequate job of doing so, it's not enough. There's no doubt it's about spring, but the lyrics need to support that more. Not bad.
Quote:
Nicole - 1/10 - This song is completely random and I don't feel like it fits the theme at all. I had a hard time even understanding what the true meaning/point of the song was but then I heard the last line, and that's what made me decide to give it a 1! "Your life might not be going good but spring helps you pretend", if anything that line tells me that there is actually a darker meaning to this song than what the upbeat sound of it would lead you to believe. And that line goes against everything the theme described. I honestly feel like you chose this song just because Springtime was in the title, better luck next time.
Quote:
Ethan - 3
1/4 of the lyrics could potentially relate to spring, considering it goes through all 4 seasons, and the verse about spring doesn't even fit perfectly. Weird, poor choice.
6. posh - Lesley Gore - Sunshine, Lollipops, and Rainbows
Quote:
Dylan - 7.5 - It's a bit short but it tackles springtime more than some longer songs so I'm not complaining too much. It's definitely carefree and it points out rain-clouds disappearing for sunshine to come through which gives a hint that it's a springtime oriented track. It's a decent choice but I needed more hope & rebirth to fully buy it. Cute song.
Quote:
Nicole - 5/10 - Eh, mixed feelings about this one. I can see why you chose it and I don't think it was a complete miss but at the same time it just scratches the surface in regards to the theme if you ask me. For the most part, it's just a love song. If it has spoken more about coming out from the darkness and starting anew perhaps it would be a better fit. But the only reference to anything like that is the bit about the rain disappearing, so all of the songs that got higher scores focused much more on what I was looking for. I do respect the fact that you chose something unexpected though.

Ethan - 8
Similar to "I Can See Clearly Now", the lyrics that are there fit really well, but there aren't enough lyrics to justify a perfect score. Totally random, but very good choice.
7. Nnmmo - Nicki Minaj - The Night Is Still Young
Quote:
Dylan - 6.5 - It's carefree and fun but I don't see anything that represents a new stage of life like some of the other tracks focus on. It's a cute party track but the main thing i was looking for in each entry was rebirth and this seems to be your standard party track. Cute, but misses the point here.
Quote:
Nicole - 3/10 - Weak choice. This is nothing but a party song and I think Element was looking for something with a much deeper meaning than that. I know I was at least! I mean I guess you could song the song inspires you to be carefree but come on, you have to know this song doesn't compete with a lot of others. It's also a weak choice to me due to the fact that I believe someone who is a huge fan of Nicki probably sent it in. Sending in a song from one of your favorite artists doesn't take much thought or effort. Not to say you can't do it but if you do make sure your song really fits the theme.
Quote:
Ethan - 7
This choice isn't as blatant as some of the others, and I respect that, but a lot of it doesn't really fit from the verses. I appreciate the choice, and if it were limited to the pop girls, this would be one of the better options, but in the grand scheme, there aren't enough spring-y lyrics.
8. Truth Teller - Natasha Bedingfield - Unwritten
Quote:
Dylan - 10 - Awesome choice. It's carefree, joyous, hopeful, and sonically spring-like which is exactly what Element asked for this round. The choir towards the end just amplifies the central theme of this round (rebirth) so effortlessly. Love it!
Quote:
Nicole - 8/10 - One of the better choices although there was some tough competition among my top scoring songs. Unwritten is great though and always puts you in a good mood when listening to it, I just get the vision of driving down the freeway on a sunny warm day without a care in the world. It's such an easy listen! But as I said, a few other songs outdid it lyrically for me when it came to the theme, but still a great entry so good job.

I love this song, I wanted to find something wrong with it as a choice for this because it seems so obvious, but it fits perfectly well. Great job!

DAY 43: ENDURANCE MISSION RESULTS

It is now time to find out the team that won the Endurance mission!
*cue suspenseful music*
It wasn't even close.
The winning team is....
PURPLE TEAM!
Remmy & Truth Teller!

Purple has won the Knowledge pyramid piece, putting them at idek, like 6 or 7 pieces. Some ridiculous amount that I don't really care about at 3 AM right now.
You have also won the infamous Samadhi, and now must give it to any other team you want. Remember, what's inside the Samadhi will seriously handicap the chosen team in the the first Temple Mission, which is soon!

You will have 12 hours make this decision. I urge all of the teams to talk with purple team and discuss why you should not be the recipients of the Samadhi.
You have 12 hours to send me the name of the team you would like to give the Samadhi to (until 3 PM EDT on Sunday, March 29, 2015). Both Remmy and Truth Teller must PM me the same name, so I know it was a team decision.
Purple team, congrats again, and good luck with your decision!

Not Bloomers getting Annaed by the other two judges.
I was being a bit nice this round since none of you are actually playing Survivor.

I realized that Nicole is always good to me and generous on her scores ever since my survivor days while Dillon always give me the .5 mark score.

Not you comparing my judging to Anna's.
I feel bad that SITS was Bloomers' entry because he seems very nice. I'm sorry Bloomer, I hope you understand! I did have a very particular reason why I rated it that way though which I stated but I can see it may have sounded pretty harsh.
