So what's the go with the plebiscite now? Is it not going ahead because Labor won't support it? I'm so confused.

I honestly would rather no marriage equality under a Liberal government than a damaging plebiscite. I can wait 4 more years before I get my rights if it means homophobes don't get funding to spread their hate propaganda all throughout our media.

Yeah, no plebiscite, but Labor is trying to build pressure to get a free vote in the House now. They only need 3 of the Liberal Coalition seats to join them and the other supporters to have a same-sex marriage bill pass.

Last weekend I met my first Aussies They were playing a gig in town and we talked and I showed them to Walmart since it's one of the few stores open so late at night and they couldn't believe there was a McDonald's in there They're from Melbourne and very friendly. Their motel plans fell through so I hosted them at my place then we went out to shop.

Since we're on the border I showed them lots of Mexican products they sell here like snacks and drinks and one was so impressed with the lemon squeezers on sale that he took two, one for him and one for his mom

They told me I'm always welcome in Melbourne They taught me what "chook" means since that's part of their band name

Now I really wanna bring up this conversation I had with this guy and he said, "Well I guess we'll see [about same-sex marriage getting legalised] during the plebiscite in February" (in an annoying way, he knew I didn't support the plebiscite) but I can't because I deleted all my messages from him because I kinda hate him now.

The fact Que Sera has the record for most weeks at #1 in Australia. Of ALL artists/songs. Our country can truly be tragic sometimes.

EDIT: Wait, The Chainsmokers and Halsey tied it last week with Closer. I'm pressed. If only it debuted at #1 (it debuted #2 behind Cold Water) or stayed #1 this week, it'd have broken that record. ****ing James Arthur, ugly ass homophobe.

EDIT 2: Never mind, that's a record for Australian artists. I need them to drop the video and return to #1 for 6 more weeks and steal ABBA's record tho.

Sometimes, we are so ahead of the times in terms of music and what will smash. But sometimes, our taste is pure trash. Party Rock Anthem was a bop, but come on, best selling single? I'm pretty sure the Top 5-ish is a mess.
