pretty much the whole album except for "communication." That one hasn't grown on me yet.

I don't think it did. For a long time it was said that TVR sold 7 million, but I've even heard 10. So I would say they sold about the same, but DOAD will have sold more in the long run.

Who? Britney, Janet, Kylie, Beyonce? PLEASE. If she just feeds the chickens at her country estate for the rest of her life, for a lot of people of our time, she will always be the Queen of Pop. And there are the hits, the record sales, the sold out tours. Not to mention songs and videos that have defined generations.

She has that title written in STONE... no matter how many pop artists come out. That does not change just because somebody newer comes along.

Besides I find Madonna's non-classics far more enjoyable and less repetitive than her most known songs. But I do agree that Janet got lazy. IMO, that still doesn't change the fact that she's better. She can still outperform Madonna with ease.

1. The true masterminds behind Janet and Madonna's biggest hits were Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis and Stephen Bray & Patrick Leonard. I stan hard for these ladies but I'll be the first to admit they received WAY too much credit for other people's genius. Janet's legacy will be her dancing and her videos. Madonna's will be her videos and her antics. To Madonna's credit though, she knew when to cut Bray & Leonard loose and challenge herself creatively. Janet got too complacent with JJ & TL and she made herself obsolete.

2. Personally and objectively, I consider their heyday hits equal in terms of quality and timelessness. Janet's hits were more aggressive and dance-oriented. Madonna's hits were very girly and pop-oriented. I think their hits really complemented each other well though. The melodies are just so straightforward and beautiful. Too bad Janet's hits are kind of under-appreciated worldwide.

3. Beyonce has eclipsed Janet, but her music will always pale in comparison to Janet's.

I love Bee's conservativeness, because by being so she still brings phenomenal influences to the music industry without being so controversial or shocking like GaGa or Madonna. That's what true talent is all about. And a "Nipplegate" probably won't affect Bee as much since people now are more open to those things if they happen, and remember her upskirt during the Beyonce experience tour?

Why can't you just accept that janet. sold 20 million copies? Is it that hard to swallow? Why do you have to come in here discrediting her when neither you nor I have solid proof of her sales numbers.

He never said it didn't sell 20 million, he said it sold at least 15 million. I don't believe the Mediatraffic chart because:

You said it sold at least 15 million and I agree with that, 1-2 million more tops. 20 million is a long shot.

Oh Duca, I see her flaws. I know she can do wrong. I condemned her Blackglama fur campaign, I admit that 20 Y.O. was a crappy album and that she is most certainly not the most powerful or prettiest vocalist out there. But I love her for her flaws. I love that she feels insecure about her looks and talent, I love how she doesn't always do what people want her to do. I love how she's lazy and doesn't try to create something new, because God knows how lazy I get.

I just don't think janet. hasn't sold 20 million. I'm not deluded, don't worry.

Eli's a great, a far better one stan; strong, smart & affectionate. Although why he stans for Susan Boyle now is beyond me.
