18. Miley Cyrus - The Time of Our Lives EP Released: August 28, 2009
Chart Positions:
US: 02 - UK: 17 - AUS: 11 - CAN: 35
I know this isn't an album at all but is enough to make in my chart.
For me the center of attention of this album is the first track (LOL)
"Kicking And Screaming" song made by Ashlee Simpson for her
sophomore successfull album "I Am Me", I think Miley did a great
job but I prefer Ashlee's version but when I found a mixed version
of both songs was freaking awesome and made me like more Miley's
version. The second song "Party in the U.S.A." the # 1 hit from Miley
is a good song very different from her previous stuff as herself and
Hannah Montana also the song was in my top 15 of Singles of the
Year. Another good songs are "When I Look at You" which is a cute
ballad and "Before The Storm" (Original on Jonas Brothers 4th
album). One of my favorites is "Obsessed" (not Mariah's single) is
really good and proves that Miley is growing as a singer. For last to
mention the first part of "Talk is Cheap" reminds me a lot to "Outta
My Head (Ay Ya Ya)" by Ashlee Simpson mixed with some Gwen
sound a-like.
Conclussion: This EP could join with you any day of the week, it will
entertain you but is not enough. In the other hand Miley is leaving
that "kid" image from Hannah Montana and is looking for more
profesional work.
Favorite Tracks:
1. Party in The U.S.A.
2. Obsessed
3. Kicking and Screaming
4. When I Look At You
5. Before the Storm (ft. Jonas Brothers)
Altough is one of the comebacks of the year. I'm not a big fan of
rap music but Eminem is one of the artists that you can't let it go.
This album is not my favorite from him, i think that is missing
something in this work. The album have 20 tracks but I was
attracted by 6 or 7. "Hello" one of my favorites is a retard track
with a retard lyric but it have a great rhytm and also is a little bit
catchy and it's weird because the mostly tracks are agressive and
always is about someone like "Bagpipes from Baghdad" which talks
about Mariah Carey (Which now is answering to the rapper like in
Obsessed). "We Made You" the popular single reminds me that
Jessica Simpson is one of the favorites from Eminem like he did in
"Ass Like That".
Conclussion: I don't know why I don't feel this record like I did
with "The Eminem Show" but it still have the Eminem escence.
Favorite Tracks:
1. Hello
2. 3 a.m
3. We Made You
4. Same Song & Dance
5. Crack a Bottle (ft. Dr Dre and 50 Cent)
17. Lady GaGa - The Fame Monster Released: November 18, 2009
Chart Positions:
US: 05 - UK: 01 - AUS: 03 - CAN: 02
Actually I'm gonna be honest I wasn't expected something new
from GaGa last year because The Fame have so many good songs to
promote but well after all the news about the re-release and then
a new album well I decide to give a try because "Bad Romance" was
already killing me, also is my favorite from the album as I said in the
singles chart it sounds like a mix of Just Dance and Poker Face,
another good song that caught me fast was "Alejandro" is amazing
and the same time is weird because GaGa in the part that she's
talking she sounds like a non-english person but the song is hot as
hell!. Others good but not outstanding are "So Happy I Could Die"
which will catch you everytime more and "Dance In The Dark" which
confuses me the intro with "Boom Boom Pow" from Black Eyed
Peas. Also are songs that I didn't like so much like "Teeth" and
"Telephone" ft. Beyonce specially this 2nd because could be so
much better but I don't know two girls from different worlds.
Conclussion: The album is good but is not a big step up from GaGa
also I think The Fame still have good songs to promote like "I Like It
Rough" but well I really hope GaGa promote "Alejandro"
Favorites:
1. Bad Romance
2. Alejandro
3. So Happy I Could Die
4. Dance In The Dark
5. Monster
