She's an American in the show so she should have an American accent, but she keeps slipping into an Indian acent during the scenes where she's upset. I guess they wrote the part about Alex moving to Mumbai with her maternal grandparents for 10 years after shooting her father so they could accommodate Priyanka.

I think Simon is gay too. I'm assuming he's a virgin because he's a conservative Jew. I dated one and he refused to have anal sex. And how awkward would it be for Simon to be physical with the new gay character just to pretend he's gay? Then again, the premiere was over the top so it's a possibility.
