Gary Trust at Billboard has said the last two weeks Pharrell's "Happy" is the only song to ever reach Number One on six different charts. He is wrong, as Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" topped six charts in 2004-2005: Active Rock, Alternative Rock, Mainstream/Heritage Rock, AAA, Top 40, and Adult Top 40.
Trust is only giving Green Day credit for topping the Mainstream Rock Chart, which combined Active and Heritage on Billboard as one of that song's five Number Ones. Since the two charts remained broken up until the start of the 2014 Chart Year (which, as an Active Rock fan, made me really mad that Billboard no longer breaks the charts up) Green Day should get credit for having the first song to top six Airplay charts, and Pharrell is second.
I tweeted Gary Trust and the Billboard Twitter page last week. Hopefully Trust will acknowledge his oversight.
