If you people truly have a problem with sex or senual songs than don't listen too music period or become nuns or priests, you two were hating on Janet from day one. so whatever . and it's pretty laughable that you are citicizing Janet for singing about sex and yet you have lyics from Mariah's touch my body in your siggy, which is no more sexual than discipline.
the problem is how you, do it. if she keeps it senual like anytime, any place, twenyt four play and ect that's fine. but don''t go graphic with it like would you mind, warth, and moist. and she hasn't done that since DJ.
and yes Janet said she was more classy than madonna because it was the way she went about it, because she has been singging about sex since day one, but yet it was more senual than sexual , but Madonna flat out did **** with her sex book.
so if you are going to critize Janet for singing about sex than you might as well critize the 90% of male artists who do, and music that is on the radio.

This album is amazing
This is really unexpected, i didn't even like "all for you". I'm not a big janet fan and im telling you. This is the ****.
So to all of you that hate this, it's either because you're lying about listening to it or because you're just (im sorry guys) ****ing idiots.
Now, haters! Leave this thread and go listen to the music you say it's better
Stop being obsessed about Trashing Janet, cuz she just shut your mouth with this masterpiece of album.

LMAO
But GGGB has sold 4 million worlwide and is still in the United World album sales chart.
Blackout has nearly sold 2 millions worldwide and is still in the same chart.
Brave on the other hand is a FLOP. Selling 590,000 worlwide and being outta the charts everywhere.

I think she'll be okay if she tours, and unlike virgin I think Island is going to push the album, and more singles will be released unlike DJ and 20 Yo. which only had two singles released from each total . so hopefully it'll get to 1.5 mill. but the thing that's hurting Janet the most is lack of airplay.

the only reason Rhainna isn't doing numbers yet is because she doesn't have that loyal fanbase yet. if she keeps making ablums like GGB , she will thou

^yeah, that's so true. People just like her singles and download them on iTunes but won't pay attention to GGGB because of those bad first two albums.
But GGGB is amazing, truly the best album last year!

RN 1814 had tons of tracks, janet. had tons of tracks, Velvet Rope... well, actually, every one since Control.

I havent listened to the leak and I already know its gonna be hot. Janet has done wrong with her last two albums, but her music was pure genius before Damita Jo. "20 Y.O" and "Damita Jo" were her "Janet Jackson" and "Dream Street" albums, now it's time for a "Control". Its like a timeline that just repeated itself.
"All For You" was simply amazing. "Trust a Try" and "You Ain't Right" shoulda been singles, as well as "China Love".

I have to agree. I still wish her music had more of a "purpose" to it. I don't really know why her music has gotten less mature as she's gotten more mature. Because really, if you look at her as a person and not her music, she's classy, reserved, very generous and apparently, not a diva. Why that doesn't translate is beyond me.
However, I take Discipline at face value. I don't whine about why it isn't Rhythm Nation or Velvet Rope--I simply enjoy it for what it is, a pop confection. I don't expect anything from her but a great album. Unfortunately, that wasn't true in 2006, but Discipline is a great album, yes. I think it will sell a bit better than you're predicting. There's just something in me that says that...
And if she doesn't? Well, do I really care? No, and I don't think she does, either. Ideally, though, her next album will be introspective and reflective. Or, perhaps, a sequel to Rhythm Nation! I've thought it over, and RN 1814 was easily the best album of her career. You could argue that some had more timeless pop/dance songs, but RN was genius. It saw her image shift from an independent young woman into an independent young woman who was helping the world. I honestly have no idea why she doesn't play on that in the twenty-first century, because she could easily make another one just like it, and start another phenomenon.

Simply aching to have my other faves from Discipline on my computer without illegally downloading them...

This album is amazing and is pretty much what I thought it would be--classic meets innovative Janet. I listen to it every damn day. To hell with sells--as long as she continues to put out beautiful music and entertains the hell out of me, Janet will always be #1.
I can't wait to see her perform live when she blows the roof off of MTV/TRL studios next Tuesday.

Thank you for that comment! Yes I agree with you very much. I'm not asking anybody to necessarily agree with what I'm saying, but to at least consider it. In interviews she seems like she has her act together like you said, very reserved. There's still no telling what prospects Janet has for later on in her career, but there's nothing wrong with enjoying pop confection in the meantime. Rock on!

Technically no, because I own Control, RN 1814, janet., The Velvet Rope, All For You, and Design of a Decade. All paid for too, I might add. Please give me a little credit.

Hopefully, it really is "in the meantime." I love me some sexy Janet, but it's the rocking, more sensual, more romantic Janet that I'm waiting for. She says she doesn't set out to make a "sexy album--" it just ends up that way. Well, it works for Discipline, but do you think you could make it so it doesn't "end up that way" next time? Pretty please?
