They tried a couple of years ago and unless you were Rihanna or Lady Gaga, your song did nothing on the charts and radio then wouldn't playlist you because they thought the public weren't interested. It works better in the US because radio counts towards chart positions but in the UK it's based solely on sales.
This song is a bop though. I hope it's a hit for them. Just downloaded the album yesterday and I love it.
