I've been noticing in many people's chart, they've started adding the comment section (mainly mariah_4life's and Marnie's), and it's been very successful. So I'm gonna add one right here, so I'm expecting questions and stuff that I can answer, it'll be much abliged.
Paramore In The History Books
Originally Nelly Furtado and Snoop Dogg holds the record for a retired song not peaking inside the top 10. In 2007, Nelly Furtado's Do It, peaked at number 11 and stayed on for 19 weeks. Then in 2008, Snoop Dogg's Sensual Seduction had peaked at number 11 also for many weeks, and ended up retiring after 16 weeks, without reaching the top 10. This week Paramore's That What You Get, crushes their record with a lower peaking single retiring. That's What You Get has peaked at number 19, but has managed to stay on for the full 15 weeks. I congratulate Hayley and the rest of her band mates! Lil Wayne, Nelly and Wiley also retire today.
6 Brand New Entries
We have 6 brand new entries this week. The highest comes from Rihanna with her single Disturbia. The girl really annoys me, yet she still manages to push out the hits. I'm loving Disturbia at the moment, and I can see Disturbia hitting the number one spot in the upcoming months. The next new entry comes from Linkin Park with the fourth single from "Minutes to Midnight". I quite liked, Leave Out All The Rest, but I didn't listen to it that much. It has been getting a lot of video play in the UK, and it has lead me to entering it as the second highest new entry this week. Third goes to Solange Knowles. Her single "I Decided", has entered this week at #39. I Decided is a hot Summer track, and I'm feeling it big time. Also at #45, a song I never imagined liking, Kerli's Walking On Air. I finally decided to download the EP, and I gotta tell you, Kerli is a hot talent, and I know a lot of members like her, and I'm one of them too! At #46, comes Jessica Simpson's country effort, Come On Over, is very, very good, and is the second lowest entry this week. And finally at #47, Dreamgirls and Sex & The City star, Jennifer Hudson's single "Spotlight", enters as the lowest new entry.
Ashanti Also Makes History
Ashanti is also making history this week with her single "The Way That I Love You". Her single, has been on the chart today for 14 weeks, one week from retirement, and last week she hadn't reached the top 10, following in the footsteps of Nelly Furtado, Snoop Dogg and Paramore. But this week she makes history for longest time before hitting top 10. She enters this week at #8. Well done!
David Cook and Mariah Carey Plummet
David Cook and Mariah Carey have this weeks hottest droppers. David Cook's debut "The Time Of My Life" falls 15-36, falling 21 places. Mariah Carey's second single from "E=MC2", 'Bye Bye', falls 6-29, falling 23 places. Ouch! for both Mimi and David.
Who's #1?
Last week, Jordin Sparks finally hit #1 with "No Air", on it's 25th week. This week it has competition from Dizzee Rascal and Flo Rida. But Jordin has managed to stick onto the #1 spot, fighting off Dizzee and Rida. Dizzee just misses out on 2 plays, and Flo Rida ropes up 12-3, with 66% sing-ativity!
