The XX is speaking on the performance element of the two artists. Beyonce brings excellent showmanship and energy to the stage, and that is something that is lacking in the current field of artists. MJ brought that to the stage, and Beyonce, and many others of MJ's time, is carrying that torch of delivering consistently great performances.
