Jesus. I thought that there were a ton of new updates based on the amount of replies this thread has now, but no, that's just because there have been a TON of replies. Holy crap.
But anywho, the singles sets have been pretty good, especially the last one. I generally approve of a set with any one of the three, but all three? THAT'S THE GOOD STUFF.
JEIBERT'S Best of 2011 | [#55-#54] [#107-#105] Now Updated!!
JAMES MORRISON- "The Awakening"
Released: September 23, 2011
Genre: Soul, adult contemporary, pop
Label: Island
Producers: Bernard Butler, Mark Taylor
This is James’ follow up to 2008’s “Songs for You, Truths for Me”, which contains his biggest hit to date, the collaboration with Nelly Furtado, “Broken Strings”. This time, The Awakening offers that classic James’ signature raspy vocals over soulful blues and adult contemporary music. “Up” which features Jessie J is a close reminiscent of Broken Strings is my favourite. “Slave to the Music” is another highlight which has that sexy pop flavour tinged on its instrumentation. On the other tracks like “Forever”, “One Life”, and the title track shows the perfect form of his vocals.
Favorite Tracks: : "Up" (feat. Jessie J), "Slave to the Music", "I Won’t Let You Go", "Beautiful Life", "Forever", "The Awakening"
NATALIA KILLS - "Perfectionist"
Released: March 15, 2011
Genre: Pop, electropop, synthpop
Label: will.i.am, Cherrytree, Kon Live, Interscope, Bozadya, Dandyville
Producers: Akon, Jeff Bhasker, "The-Ron" Feemster, Fernando Garibay, Martin "Cherry Cherry Boom Boom" Kierszenbaum, Giorgio Tuinfort
One of the special and striking newcomers of 2011, Kills already received media attention which led to her be compared by fellow pop artist especially Lady Gaga that sparked copycat comparisons due to her resemblance of same music style, same label and same theme of lyrical content to her songs. Although Ms. Natalia is still struggling to get a hit song, this album offered us a solid debut. As what her surname tells us, her songs also have the same theme, e.g (fame & death). Some tracks might be forgettable but still, its production value is still top notch as a pop record. Hopefully, her next album will have a different direction or approach which will more cater for her appeal as an artist to the listeners.
Favorite Tracks: "Mirrors", "Wonderland", "Break You Hard," "Free", "Zombie", "Love is a Suicide", "Heaven"

At first listen, you can hear the the beats of the song's production on Justin Bieber's "Somebody to Love" which samples this track (both were produced by The Stereotypes, that's why...). But in all fairness, this is one of the highlights of the group's album. The chorus sung by Ryan Tedder is a very reminiscent of Bruno Mars' chorus style, who also co-wrote the song. For me, this song is very free-spirited and very uplifting and carefree as well, and it was one of my early jams this year!
BEYONCE - "Move Your Body"
"...I ain't worried doing me tonight, A little sweat ain't never hurt nobody, Don't just stand there on the wall, Everybody just move your body, Move your body, Move your body, Move your body, Move your body, Everybody, Won't you move your body? Everybody, Won't you move your body? Hey!..."

Joining forces with US First Lady Michelle Obama, Bey campaigns for the Let's Move! anti obesity campaign aimed towards the children! I'm very glad for this move because the song and video, urges you not just to sweat out, but also have fun while dancing to it! The dance steps are easy to follow and it's not that typical workout video but with a song by Bey! I admit, Even I followed the dance steps LOL. I recommend this as your workout regimen for your daily routine too!
JASON DERULO - "Don't Wanna Go Home"
"...Ayo me say day oh,Daylight come and we don't wanna go home,Yeah so we losing control, Turn the lights low cause we about to get blown, Let the club shut down, We won't go oh oh oh, Burn it down, To the flo oh oh oh, Ayo me say day oh, Daylight come and we don't wanna go home..."

This is maybe the best, if not, one of the best dance tracks which showed great samples within! With Harry Belafonte's ""Day-O (The Banana Boat Song)" and Robin S.'s "Show Me Love", this track is fire on the club and all over the dancefloors! The super catchy chorus makes you go singing along to the tune. I consider this as his best work to date! Too bad, it didn't crack the US Top 10 unlike his previous singles, but in the UK, it collected him another #1!
